The 1966 Mercury Comet that I grew up in, recently rescued from 25 years in my great grandparents' field.
She's got her original 289 with 2V carb. It hasn't been started since it was parked in '83 due to transmission troubles, but the engine still turns, we have spark... just a little bit more fiddling with the carburetor and we're ready for a test fire. I'll post video if I get 'er going!
The brakes were so badly rusted from being sunk into the mud that we had to DRAG the Comet onto the trailer, and I had to break the brakes up pretty bad to get the drums off. Gonna have to fix that before she goes anywhere. And there's no telling what I'm going to find when I get around to the transmission!
