Welcome to my 408RT Project
It's 2000 Dodge Dakota R/T
65000 Miles, with new 408 engine.
The Goals....................
11 Sec. Club & 130 MPH Club at Bonneville Salt Flats (150 MPH once the roll cage is installed)
I have too many mods to list here but I will post some of my favorite ones.
Spoiler to hold the truck down going fast. Makes 90 lbs of down force at 100 MPH. Hand polished aluminium. Not your standard plastic crap, this thing is BOLTED down for a reason!

This is what I started with before I polished it. To make it look good takes alot of time and elbow grease.
A Picture of the truck in Race trim. Pro 6 wheels with MT get the rubber to the road.
Smirking Viper Stripe, Ads a little Attitude

If you want a stripe talk to Glen Renzoni. He made mine and he will hook you up Awesome Stripes
Here are some pics of my 408 Stroker Engine. Eagle Crank and H Beams. 10:1 compression. S&S Long Tube Headers. Comp Cam. Mopar Hydraulic Roller Lifters. JE Race Pistons

Just put the Borla Exhaust, 2 1/2" True Duals, 3" Stainless Tips, and Cross-Over Pipe with QTP Stainless Cut-outs (Ryan's Mufflers in Florence, KY)
Special thanks to John Mercedes help from Southeast Performance with the engine components, and the awesome R/T Heads

Thanks to Curt for his garage and help, without it the truck would still be a 5.9L. Mike's pictured here helping..... "Yah.. I'm helping!!!"
I have put a team of people together and we are planning to be in Bonneville next year 2010. I will be in Bonneville this year as a spectator. Sept 16-19th

Big Thanks to Brett for suppling the tow vehicle to and from the track.

And the best part..... THE VIDEO by Mike (the teams Gadget and Video Man) Yeh, we know You're Great and We SUCK!!

First run with the new 408 against a Camaro SS, best run that night was 13.530 at 100.25 MPH

Went to the track a second time once the truck was tuned. The runs weren't as fast because the temp was hot. Still ran in the low 13's @ 103 MPH.

I got true Dual exhaust, two QTP Dumps followed on to two Borla Mufflers and two side pipes.

UP COMING MODS:
Keisler RT56 kit, 6 speed manual tranny. This will get us better topend while keeping the 4.56 rear gear for drag racing.
New seats to keep you in while cornering. Taking on the SCCA Solo challenge Road Race and drifting.
For now the saga continues:
The R/T has been parked for the winter. I had to get a replacement truck for the winter months and to have the ability to tow the R/T to the track. If you are thinking about doing a DFI make sure you got a tuner.
Rich Kolb of Kolb Tuning has worked his magic on the tuning.

This is my new tow/truck, 2000 Ford F150, Club Cab, Flareside, 5.4L Triton Engine
