The Wedding
I was asked by my cousin to use the Cortina as his wedding car a day prior to the wedding. Now there is a little story behind this.
On that weekend of the wedding, I had removed the brake booster and had no brakes on the car. My cousin was supposed to have got his unlce's 72 Camaro to use as the wedding car but his uncle let him down. Now my cousin, being a true blue Ford Fanatic did not want to go to his wedding in a BMW or Mercedes like everyone else.
The night before his wedding, my cousin pleaded with me to drive him to his wedding using my car as the wedding car. I had refused him because I knew I would never be able to service the brake booster and re-bleed the brake system during that Saturday morning.
Well, in any case I woke up early that morning and went to the Auto spares shop and managed to get seals and other stuff that was needed to get the brake booster running again. I do almost all the work on my car alone - nobody helps me and I like it that way. This is why I take all the credit for restoring my car. But on this instance I had to get - wait for it - my MOM to help me. I got her to pump the brakes whilst I bled the system.
We fianlly got the brakes running and I took the car to the car wash. From there I told my cousin that I got the car ready and we could use it for the wedding. He was over excited. After the car wash I took it over to his house to ge the other cousins to decorate the car whilst I go home and get ready for the wedding.
I can tell you one thing for sure - we caused a major eyeball on the road to the wedding. Every car that passed us on the highway slowed down, hooted and the people waved at us becuase they hadnt seen something like this in ages. Every wedding you go to nowadays people use Mercs, BMW's and Lexus.
Even at the wedding, most of the guests were checking out the car before they got into the venue.
