This is my 5th Ranchero and its a keeper. It was restored about 12 years ago but hadn't been driven very much. The vehicle was rust free exceipt a little damage to the roof which has been repaired. The graphics on the side was snow white before it was changed to the Golden Yellow Matalic color we created.. We also added the graphic to the tail gate. Aside from the body work The carborator and intake manifold had to be replaced to make it run right.. The last repair was the Posi Rear End. The Engine is a 351 Clevland rebuilt with a performance cam. She has done 0-60 in 5sec. Also added Anti sway bar to rear, Handles like a vett now.

Cybertee11's 1972 Ford Ranchero Here's a picture of the 72 El Camino I have. My son and and I worked on it together. I finely finished restoring the vinyl top so it looks and runs pretty good. My son liked the looks of the El Camino but ended up bying my 73 Ranchero instead. It can haul sheetrock flat in the bed because the space between the wheel wells is wide enough. Fords better Idea, can't do that with an El Camino and the Ford handles a lot better. I've owned 2 El Caminos, the 72 and a 78 and I found the Ranchero to be a better vehicle all the way around. Take a minute to compare them side by side. This year in my opinion has the best of both body designs.

Sweet Rancho! I just shipped a rust free '70 from Oregon and I've finished the uderside, engine compartment and complete engine restoration (351C 4V). My favorite Ranchero/Torino/Fairlane years are '67, '70, '71 and '72. My first car was a '67 Fairlane GTA S Code and I can't even afford one these days so I got into Ranchos... I also owned a Performance Red '72 Torino Gran Sport GT with a white vinyl rood and white interior with buckets and rally dash. I really miss that car too so I've got a sweet spot for '72's and yours is great... When I owned my '72 GT my friend owned a '72 Malibu SS and he could never catch my in the twisties... rds
