This is my Sprinter. Currently it is powered by a 3TC (1.8l hemi) backed by a 5spd transmission. Feeding the motor is a pair of Mikuni 44mm sidedraft carbs. An aluminum flywheel lets it rev quickly. The rear end is a TE27 unit with custom leaf springs. Up front are AE86 short stroked struts/brakes with koni adjustable inserts, ground control coilover sleeves and T3 camber plates.

The car is still a work in progress, with some bugs related to the motor swap that still need to be worked out. Future plans are better rear shocks and a panhard rod, poly suspension bushings all around, and a new interior. Down the road it would be nice to do a full cosmetic restoration to deal with some emerging rust and lay down a better quality paint job.

The next picture is a parts car I picked up locally. It had most of the parts I used to upgrade the motor and suspension. It was way too rusty and molested to save, so I stripped all the goodies out and sent it away for scrap.

I just found this Sprinter owned by an older lady in Victoria who bought it new and drove it until about 5 years ago. Unfortunately, living on waterfront, the car was parked next to the ocean its whole life, and the drivers side is incredibly rusty underneath. All the structural areas are full of gaping holes. Even the firewall is rusted through. I considered fixing it, but then I realized it had accident damage in the front, and while the outer panels were replaced, the core support had been cut out and a new one welded in, only crooked! I'm afraid it's just too much to save.
