'GeeTee'

A YELLOW SHADE OF BRIGHT
'GeeTee's heart transplant went well. Her tired 225-6cyl was replaced with a fresh V-8. Her new motor is a high-performance '66-273 [casting # 2465330] bored 30-over,with flat top pistons and solid lifters. A CRANE cam [.500 lift] was added as well as a ELDEBROCK 600 four barrel on top of her '68 340 intake. [casting # 2531915] The '68 340 heads [casting # 2531894] intake and expell her fuel flow. She breathes great with her MOPAR exhaust manifolds. CHERRY-BOMB mufflers lets everyone know she is coming. A stock 3:55 rear end saches' her quickly down the road. The HURST 4-speed PISTOL GRIP adds to the drivers thrill. 'GeeTee' loves to socialize, preferring a life out of her garage. She is not shy and enjoys all the thumbs up. She manages over 20 mpg around town, but, only 12 on the highway. This seems backwards, but, she was built to 'dart' around town instead of cruising in the fast lane. She is very quick and agile. A pleasure to drive, this GT struts proudly...Say hello to my daily driver!

Pretty straight vintage. Paint is ' LEMON-TWIST-YELLOW' available at NAPA. She has been entirely freshened-up, inluding; door jambs, engine compartment, under hood, trunk area, and dash. ."The Dodge Dart was an automobile built by the Dodge division of the Chrysler Corporation from 1960 to 1976. The Dart was introduced as a lower-priced, shorter wheelbase, full-size Dodge in 1960 and 1961, became a mid-size car for 1962, and finally was a compact between 1963 and 1976. Dodge also used the "Dart" name for a Ghia-built show car in the 1950s." - WIKIPEDIA

4-speed HURST PISTOL GRIP shifts quick!........... "DODGES most inviting Dart wrapper would have been the GT, a dressed up Dart 270 with bucket seats, console, and attractive chrome appointments. Built on an 111-inch wheelbase, it was available in hardtop and convertible bodystyles. Dodge’s Dart GT was the division’s sportiest small car, though over at Plymouth, the Barracuda, with its 106-inch wheelbase and fastback styling, also was available with the optional 273 four-barrel V-8". -by the Auto Editors of Consumer Guide
Lots of room for what was called a compact car in the day.The GT's 1963 sales of 34,227 indicated that the Dart series was successfully received by the buying public as an upper-market "large" compact.

"Throughout its 1963-66 production run, the Dart experienced evolutionary changes rather than revolutionary ones. The most notable improvements were additional engine options, especially their application in the GT series.
Chrysler added a four-barrel intake manifold with a Carter AFB carburetor. This $99.40 option helped squeeze out 235 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 280 pounds/feet of torque at 4000. The 273 had 3.625-inch bores, but with a short 3.31-inch stroke, it had the ability to rev quite freely.
Introduced in 1964, the 273 was a new engine that ultimately led to a series of V-8s known as the “LA” family.
Its most inviting Dart wrapper would have been the GT, a dressed up Dart 270 with bucket seats, console, and attractive chrome appointments. Dodge’s Dart GT was the division’s sportiest small car, though over at Plymouth, the Barracuda, with its 106-inch wheelbase and fastback styling, also was available with the optional 273 four-barrel V-8.Since Ford had trotted out the Mustang with its pretense of performance in 1964, Dodge modified the Dart's optional small block V-8 with a wilder cam and a four-barrel carburetor for '65. The GT could also now be had with a special heavy-duty suspension option and a four-speed, floor-shift manual transmission. With this new hopped-up engine the GT could really dart. Zero to sixty m.p.h. took only 8.2 seconds.

"By 1965, a four-barrel carb and high performance cam were available to push that to 235 hp; and, in 1966, a limited edition 273 with a 700 cfm carb and .500" lift cam put out 275 hp {gross}"
Standard behind the 273 V-8 was a three-speed manual transmission, with optional four-speed or TorqueFlite automatic. Axle choices were modest: 3.23:1 standard, 2.93 or 3.55 optional.
A typical 273 Dart GT hardtop could run 0-60 mph in the low-nine-second range and turn the quarter in the mid-16s. Car and Driver called the 235-horse Dart’s performance “interesting, if not stunning".
