This little ride was supposed to be my commuter, but it became my fun ride!

nitromyke's 1994 Suzuki Sidekick It came from factory with 205/75-15 tires,I've put 235/75-15 mud&snow tires to ride to work smoothly, and have enough bite to cross small mud pits. They clear the fenders at full tilt.

The door hinge inner nuts had rust through the pillar,a quick fix with the Mig brought back it's strenght!

I think the front separated brackets holding the trailing arms might be a little weak for rough trails, so I stick welded a 1.5 tubing with 1/4 wall between them. now I got protection for my sway bar and differential, and a solid anchor to bolt a skid plate from this point to the engine crossmember.

I'll take more pics when I ride along the powerlines close to where I live

Skid plate install
I got a 1/4 inch plate 14x24 inches that ties between the custom front crossmember and engine crossmember, I did the bends on an hydraulic press

A weak area on these little rides when you live up north is the front floor to rocker seams. The front wheels blasts salt and rocks during winters. After 15 years, some damage has been done.

So I made these corner buckets from 1/16 thick sheet metal, bended and welded to follow the floor lines.

I removed the surface rust and coated the floor with anti-rust paint.Riveted the buckets to place, and added another thick coat of paint over it. Trimmed a roofing material to fit between the floor and carpet, so the moisture from the insulator wont hurt the floor in the future..
