well this is the first posting of my project. my name is Cody i live in san Diego and in October i bought a 1985 camaro iroc z. the car had minor mods such as a crappy black and yellow paint job and black and yellow interior. i decided in the begining of june to start my project including a CO MPLETE engine 5.0  rebuild including the entire powder coating of t he plen um, valve covers, pulleys oil pan etc... the engine is still in the machine shop in week 3 with new comp cam and hydraulic roller lifters true roller timing chain .030 pistons and will feature roller rockers(not the cheap Chinese ones)
the intake is getting hot tanked, glass beaded powdercoated a candy apple red and a smoke grey. the car also has a new borla exhaust will have a high flow cat and headers are still in discussion. the car will also have a mallory complete ignition and 22 lb. injectors. good year hoses. the air condidtion will be completely removed and aluminum radiator with dual cool
ing fans. also in the plans is xenon headlight kit dark charcoal grey for paint with slightly lighter grey trim interior will be set to match. i need input on the wheels i no longer have the z28 rims and i have aluminum 16 inch irocs on it now. im an considering powdercoating them or up grading to the torque thrust II from american racing. the car will also be getting 1 more big upgrade (hint)its why the ac is coming out... also will be installed wil be a adjustable fuel regulator a complete in dash custom fit auto meter guage cluster and a 3 guage pod to hold 3 other guages. MORE TO COME!!!

UPDATE 11/15/08

ok its mid way through november and the engine is pretty much done, i decided on a few things, 1 i decided to go with mac headers and y pipe a msd ignition and (due to me leaving the battery on boosst charge for too long... a new ecu with a hypertech chip, i found a killer deal on some 17" z06 10 spoke rims and will be adding them to the final project, i decided to go with the black cherry red paint after all is said and done, it wound up needing everything in the engine new except for the crank which was balanced and polished.

ok update 12/1/08

well she is home, still not running great though, i finally got her home and re went through all my wiring to find ouit what might have caused my ecu to blow, however after 3 days of wewiring i didnt find anything. so  a new ecm went it and despite my fears it was easy to take out and put in. it basically comes out with two small screws and slides right out, the plugs are that took forever to figure out how to disconnect. anyway i got her started and it seemingly took care  of all my probelms, i went out and now it wont start despite attemps for timing adjustment no blown fuses, i have fuel goin in just seems like no ignititon so i am gonna mess with my distributor a lil bti i think i migh thave it 180 out. well i decided in the meantime to dress it up a lil tell me what you think and what your opinionas  are thanks

ok so i figured out my ignition problem turned out my distributor was 180 out. haha go figure.  i will be driving her to work for the first time in 8 months tomorrow, all she needs now is the exhaust and i got it made.
