This is a little walk-through for the 350z intake plenum installation.... i bought the kintix V+ plenum.. it keeps the stock strut bar.. its 3 pounds lighter than stock.. it looks good.. a little extra sound.. and a little extra power...
My final thoughts, after buying the civic , it makes the Z feel slow!... so i just put this mod in and tested it out and even though i can feel some extra power i was dissapointed ... i am officialy done modding the Z... i might buy a resognated y pipe to make is sound better and maybe window tints but thats going to be it.... i'll focus money on making the civic faster and saving up for my supra!! anybody who wants power.. forget modding a N/A Z.. its extremely unstatisfing after you tasted something faster... just spend the 5 thousand dollars and go turbo... !!!! enough said heres the install
tools needs are simple hand tools ... loctite and screws come with the Plenum
-pliers,10mm socket , 14 mm socket( strut bar), screwdrivers,5mm hex
Dissconnect negative battery terminal !! always do this when working on your car
unscrew the 8 14mm bolts of strut bar and take it off
unscrew 4 10mm bolts and take off engine cover
you dont need to remove the intake but its only held on by 1 screw and a air tube on the bottom so i took it off to make it easier, obviously take off intake tube from throttle body
take off the 2 tubes with hose clams connected to the intake plenum shown in the picture
start to unscrew all the 10mm bolts holding down the plenum..(16 i believe)
unclip the wires connect to the throttle body (1 clip)
after all bolts are removed from intake plenum... (don't drop anything especialling into the engine :O) lift up the intake to reviel 2 more tubes connected near the throttle body.. dissconnect them... there will be a little bit of coolant in them
after that is off just lift the plenum and place it on the ground and it is time to take off the TB with a 5mm hex
if you are using a spacer instead of the acaul plenum , than you skip this step obviously... but it is the same concept
these bolts are very tight ... i almost stripped one of them.. so make sure you use the 5mm size and no other sizes... make sure the key is all the way in the screw before you start breaking it loose... take out all 4 bolts
put the TB on the new manifold, make sure its on the right way.. kept the factory gasket intact.. use the bolts supplied in the kit tighten them tightly but not overtightened
use the hose connecter supplied in the kit to connect the two coolan hoses you found under the old plenum near the TB.. they will not be connected to the new plenum
6 bolt holes that you will not be using for the new plenum... the kit supplies 6 screws to cover the holes... use THREADLOCK and tighten them tightly... don't want them to come lose and be sucked in the engine..
after that use factory gasket and place on new plenum... use old screws with new washers ,drop of threadlock and hand tighten all of them first.... than go aronud and snug them and than tighten them( do no overtighten these screws since the plenum is made of a hard plastic... !!!
connect 2 air hoses to new plenum... connect TB wires and intake tube.. connect intake tube hose and MAF sensor if it was discconected .. if you have grounding wires.. find a new place where it is connected to metal since the plenum is made of plastic
engine cover fits on weird but once it is screwed down it is fine.. connect strut bar and double check everything.. connect battery and test drive.. have fun

removed screws and engine cover and strut bar

2 air hoses need to be discconected............. this is what it looks like under the upper plenum

notice the difference in the plenums front area

don't strip the bolts be carefull... tighten them tightly when installing it

2 coolant hoses you need to connect by the supplied connection

before you install the plenum .. screw in the 6 screws with threadlock and tighten tightly

screw in all screws with threadlock tightly... don't overtighten.. recconect all wires and double check your work..

DONE!
