1970 Sumthin Minibike

Roadkill1260's 1972 MINI Moke

This is a minibike that i picked up from fome meth head i sold a car to in town. It was originally what he rode up there to buy the car with. Talk about a pile. It was shit brown and had duct tape all over it the fenders were polished steel and rusted pretty bad and the motor was pretty good but and ugly tainted white. I rode it around and the chain would not stop falling off so out of frustration i parked it and forgot about it. But until recently I have been attending school in a po dunk town and i needed some sort of entertainment. So i pulled the bike apart and started painting.

i also did some research on the bike... it was a trail horse SS300. vin plate read GTO1400. originally made in omaha, ne by general appliance company. i took the frame to work and had it painted the same color as the new chevy cobalts and corvettes. I sorted through the motor and cleaned everything. also bought a new sprocket and clutch. home fabbed the sprocket guard and a few other things... new lights and a fresh chain and i was set.

Now i have a sunset burnt orange and black minibike that looks like it just came from the depths of hell. therefore properly dubbed "DEATHBIKE"... it can do 45mph and gets around 20miles on a quarter gallon.

Future plans involve a k16 turbo. yes turbo on the minibike 4hp motor. i have figured out how to do it and am just waiting to find the perfect "junky turbo" that still works just not in good shape. Let me know what you think...some videos of the bike after i tuned it and had everyhthing tweaked. before i painted it are here

initial run

No pics or vidoes yet... but i have retired the original 4hp tecumseh motor and  found a briggs and stratton RaptorIII motor that was jetted and tuned for methanol makes about 5-7 hp .. with some adjustments it will run on premium and run scary fast.. about 55-60 mph.. just need to sort out a carb issue and figure out another brake system..
