I bought the car about a year ago. This is what I started with:

First started off with doing some suspension upgrades to get the car ready for the V8.
First: new shocks and 1" lowering V8 springs from mustangsunlimited.com get rid of that Inline 6 Crap.

Here is the comparison between the old inline 6 springs and V8 springs.

after that the car is actually one inch taller than before!
grrr. and after waiting a month and half it settled down 3\4 inch.

Next Time to get rid of the nasty 4 lug small drum brakes.
I bought a 9in with drums and started the install.

Yay its finally out!
don't worry I painted the third member before putting it in.

After getting it in and finding out the inline 6 with a 3 speed has a 52in. long drive shaft I had it shorted and balanced. rides a lot better too. installing the 96 GT 17in rims. I had the rims sitting after i sold my 98 mustang gt (crying)

the AFTER MATH

Next was to get some five lug V8 front brakes and spindles. I was surfing craigslist.com and found a guy selling his complete front suspension off a v8 1968 mustang for $100.00!!! so I picked them up. sorry I don't have photos of that install
after that was completed I found that the 96GT rims will not fit the front because they hit the control arm. so to get home from my fathers house. I had to find some replacment rims, but all the tires places were closed and the junk yards too. I back to craigs list and found a guy selling two steel wheels with studded tires for $75.00 so I drove home with white walled studded tires on the front of a rear wheel drive car lucky it was night time when I drove home!
Next I ordered a pair of 1" wheel spacers for the front wheels here it is after install.
as you can tell even from the first picture is the rear end sits really low because of the worn out leaf springs and every now and then I rub a little fender but nothing extreme.

So spings cost about $180.00 so I ordered some 1" longer shackles from NPD and installed those.

Well thats it Check back in a couple weeks I'm going to perform the shelby drop to get the perfect ride height.
