Don't forget to rate my ride...

Mannyville's 1999 Saturn SL-Series And still running good.. :-)

Update 10/8/09: Well I'm taking a mini vacation and heading over to panama beach and was planning on taking the project but I ran into a little snag. The car wouldn't turn on... lol .. anyway after about 8 hours I was able to get the starter out and it was that. That crap is hard to get off. but anyway... on to florida.... lol

Update 9/23/09: My homie Aldo hooked me up with a dvd set-up so I hooked it up and although it ain't new it's good... Almost drove off the road watching Waterboy... lol  check it out on page 3. enjoy

Update 9/19/09: I was able to go to the Atlanta Motorsport Nationals.. I thought my car was better than some of them. Anyway pix on page 10....enjoy

Update 8/31/09: Nothing much to do so I decided to clean up the engine and decided to clean out the throttle body. It was super dirty and the stuff I used cleaned it up nice. I have the pix of what I used in page 9.... And I added another page.. so enjoy!!

Update 7/6/09: Well I was bored so I decided to paint my windshield wipers. Nuff said!!!

Update 6/27/09: I was fixing my wife's van so I texted Hector to see what he was doing. He was getting his ride tinted so check out his tibby (lil hector18) and after talking to him for a little bit I decided to buy red caliper paint. So enjoy the pix...

Update: 6/26/09: Just got my new shift knob. Looks different but good. Should have gone with a color, but I haven't chosen a color scheme that I like. Most likely I will paint the satty silver and go with blue neons and blue leds to light the inside. Anyway check out the new pix on the interior page... peace.

Update: 6/21/09: I just ordered my new shift knob so I'll take some pix when I put it on.

Update: 6/13/09: Finally had enough money to get my header put on and yep... it really did make a difference. I'm digging it!!! check the engine page for pix, and scroll down to see me brake some CHILD LABOR LAWS!!!! Enjoy...

P.S. let me give a shout out to Helluva_Saturn for Ideas and motivation. Thankx. Check him out people!!!

Update: 5/31/09: I decided to sea foam the car today and well.... I recommend doing. BUT!!!   watch some videos on youtube before you do it cuz you are going to freak out about what will happen.... But the motor is quieter, runs smoother and sounds good. Don't get me wrong... it doesn't give you super horse power but it cleans all/most of the carbon build up in the motor and the lines. Check out some videos on youtube about sea foam and do it.

Update: 5/25/09: Since it was nice out I decided to work on some more body panels... so check out the new pix down below and on the exterior page.

Update: 5/18/09: Well today I am going to sea foam my car so hopefully the motor won't blow up...  :-O    I'll let everyone know how it goes, and I just ordered some gaskets for my OBX headers since I didn't have any. So as soon as they get here I will get my headers put on.

Update: 4/29/09: Ok.. well I have decided that since I ain't no mechanic and I'm frustrated with all this engine crap that I will swap everything that is useful to the project and then sell the donor to someone.. so keep an eye out on ebay... :-)   ---- so with that in mind on to the pix... :-O

Update: 4/23//09: Well it's been a horrificly slow process with all the rain and delays and crap!!! I finally got the motor out of the Sl1 but the new motor that I got at the JY has a thrown rod. So now I am in the process of switching the heads so I can drive the darn thing. Anyway once it's done I'll post pix but this will surely mean that "the project" will be over and "the donor" will become the ride. I will miss this car but it won't be done for a while so I can still enjoy it.

Update: 3/30/09: Ok well I just bought another 99 Sl but it's a sl1. Anyway I was planning to swap all useable parts to my car (sl2) but it looks like I have to go the other direction and swap everything I've done the sl2 to the sl1. The new car is in better condition and I bought it for the transmission anyway. So It looks like the sl2 is done for right now... Side note.. the sl1 has a blown headgasket so I may try to fix it and then sell the car whole to someone who can use it after I swap motors....  just stay tuned... same bat time.. same bat channel.

Update: 3/20/09: I finally got the headliner in and with a new cloth grey in color. I also worked over the face gauges. I like them... will definately try to do something more to them.

Update: 3/16/09: My transmission is leaking bad. Apparently a "mechanic" used silicone to seal a hole or a huge gash on the transmission case and it has been leaking slowly. So it looks like a new transmission is coming soon. If you know where I can get a new one or rebuilt cheap send me a message. I'm looking at $2000 and some change if not.

Update: 3/3/09  - Went to the junk yard hoping to score some leather seats and some rear disk's but nothing. Instead I got me a cluster gauge that I am going to try to ghetto it so it looks like the saturn vue's gauges.

Update: 2-11-09   - Nothing yet but I am planning on fixing it up a tiny bit. Halo's, clear markers, 19's, new interior, rear drum to dik conversions, but that's all depending on how much I get back from taxes. Anyway that's all for right now.

-- Redid my page Enjoy --

What up people. Let me show you my project. I needed a new car since my van died. I guess the dual turbo van just wasn't meant to be... lol.. Anyway I bought this 99 SL2 for about $980... not bad right... I had seen this plymouth breeze but I went with this in the end.

Well first it had the dounut as the passenger rear tire and the other tires looked somewhat bald so... I was thinking of just getting tires but I decided to buy rims also. Kill two birds with one stone right... Anyway I think I chose some pretty good 17's for the project..

                  -- Updated Pix  4/30/09 --

I have received some good comments about the dual color so I guess I'm doing something good right ??!!

 - What I am going to do is have the front bumper, rear bumper, and the roof green and everything else will be grey. I may also get some 18 or 19 in rims just like mine, but not sure. I may have to start a vote one that one....

I just washed it so it looks shiny.  :-)

Thank you for your comments, Manny. I might get new rims and revamp my system over the winter. Good luck with your ride.
