Hey everyone!

This is my dad's 1956 Chevy 210 Post that he bought in July 1980. He paid $50 for the body and frame and started restoring it as soon as he was in posession of it. It was completed for the first time in 1983, and it had black leather interior with a red and white paint job. Then, he restored it again and finished it around 1997. It is now painted Corvette Red, and has beige leather interior that is modeled after an old Mercedes.

The nickname, "Grandpa," is basically from the fact that this car is the oldest vehicle in our stable. It has some other interesting history, though: this car has caught on fire three times. The first two times, my dad and his friend were working on it, but the third time, my friends and I were riding with my dad to a car show. The car just started smoking for no apparent reason, and it really freaked us out! I mean, we were in 4th grade, and things are in a different perspective when you're that little. Come to find out, the guy who had worked on it earlier that week had the brake fluid line next to the exhaust system, so that just totally screwed things up. Luckilly, it didn't do much damage, so we were good to go.

This car has won so many awards throughout the years that I can't even begin to type them all. I'll try to go through the scrapbook I made for my dad to find a few of them and put them on here. I definitely remember, though, that it got "Best in Show," "People's Choice," "Best Paint," "Best Interior," and "Best Chevy" at the shows, as well as many others.
