loENOUGH's 1997 GMC SonomaThis is my BABY! I got her about 11 months back, she was perfectly fine but you know us mini' truckers can't leave well enough alone. So, since day one my dad and I have been ripping her apart piece by piece. I painted all the interior flames myself, and am constantly trying to fit more of my work into my ride. Sorry to say I don't have the money to shave it or suicide the doors like I'd like but I still think the truck will be pretty bad a** regardless!

loENOUGH's 1997 GMC SonomaThis pic shows off the back of my ride! I got the smoked euro tailights from stylin concepts, and I haven't got the roll pan on yet. I decided to go with a solid steel one instead of one with a molded license plate box because I thought it would give it a smoother look! I plan on getting the bottom painted to match the rest of the truck too!

loENOUGH's 1997 GMC SonomaThis is where I spend most of my time, the interior of my truck! I got the seat covers, floor mats, and steering wheel cover all from Advance Auto Pars. They didn't come as a set, but they all match really well because they're all made by the same company, NOS RACING! I painted the flames on the back panel in the same color, and pattern as the flames on the seat covers and floor mats!

loENOUGH's 1997 GMC SonomaI have to admit these are some of the coolest pedals I have ever seen! I got them at Pepboys for $25, I recommend that everyone go out and get some! They look great, and I haven't had one problem with them in the last year!

loENOUGH's 1997 GMC Sonoma This is the regular old back panel that came on the truck that I painted to match the seatcovers! I've always been good at art and I knew I had to tie that into my truck somehow! Here are the step-by-step instructions on how I did it!

STEP 1:

The first thing you'll need to do is get some unlined paper(computer paper works best) and draw out an outline of your flames. You can do it from memory, or look off of something. It may take you a while, but don't get frustrated. And remember, it doesn't have to be perfect. After all, what kind of world would it be without imperfection

STEP 2:

Next, take the pattern that you just made and cut it out along the edge of the flame. Don't try to cut the whole thing out at once, it's too hard and you'll end up ruining your pattern. After you cut it out, lay it out across the board. You'll need some type of pen to trace it with, I had to use a gel pen because of the black background but you should use whatever type works with your project. Trace the entire pattern out, now you have the basic outline for your flames.

STEP 3:

Now that you have your outline, it's time for the base coat. Choose the color for the inside of your flames and start painting! This is the easy part, it's the first coat so you don't have to be so precise, you can really have fun with it. I put on two coats just to be safe.

STEP 4:

Now for the details. You can add these on in the beginning if you want, but i chose to leave them off so I could get a better look at it. Take your pen and just start getting creative with it. Extend a tip, or made an edge a little jagged. It doesn't matter, just have fun with it. Then, fill them in with your base coat.

STEP 5:

Now it's time for the hard part, the outline. Let me tell you, this can get difficult. There are a couple ways you can do this, the easiest by far is to water down your paint. It will make the paint thinner, and alot easier to make faster, smoother strokes. The one thing you don't want to do is let your paint "cake" up on you. The last thing you need is lumpy paint, so rinse your brush often and paint in short periods.

STEP 6:

You're almost there, all you have to do now it go back over it and fix any imperfection you may have made. ( I had a bad habit of laying my hand down in a place that was still wet!) After you get it perfect, add your initials and go to your local Wal-mart and get a can of good polyurethane. Spray a couple coats on that baby and you're finished! Pop it in your truck and watch your friends stare in envy!

This is a page from my scrapbook I keep of my truck. I started it the day I got it and have been adding pages with each update I make to it! This page shows the difference before and after the drop! I modeled this page, and a few others, after the drop em wear shirt designs! I've always been a big fan of their clothes, and thought they'd be a good design for my book!
