here's my 74 dodge shorty ive had for about 2 years now. theres a looong list of things that i want to do to this beast before the NATS this summer in kansas..my first van run ever!
the body is in surprisingly great shape for being an older van. im the 3rd owner. i got it from a man in michigan that kept it mostly garaged since 93 and he bought and drove it from huntington beach,ca from the original owner. i ended up getting it for about 1400$ and had it shipped to my house for about 500$.
since i bought it ive rebuilt the transmission, replaced the carb with a holley 4bbl street avenger, new starter, new radiator, new water pump, new exhaust (which will be changed here soon when i install new headers and hook up the sidepipes!), replaced the front brake system, installed a new stereo, lowered the front springs 2 1/2 coils, currently replacing the universal joints, voltage regulator and tons of other things i cant think of off the top of my head.

the van has a 360 v8 holley 4bbl, dual side exhaust, posi trac rear end, rear air shocks, wide profile rear goodyear st tires and two different front tires (until i can find two replacement st's for the front (not easy to find!!), sunroof, venturi vent, front spoiler & fender flares, shaved side door handle, filled body seams, etched wing windows, overhead console, custom front grill & headlight assembly etc etc..
........
current projects im working on...
*some body dings and bondoing is going to be done before i take it in and get it painted a dark metallic grey with side ghost flames.

*search for goodyear st front tires

*install headers and sidepipes

*fix the bad wiring to the tail lights

*replace the front suspension

*add rear leaf springs for body lift

*hood scoop

*and other little things here and there...

***for the interior im gutting it and starting from scratch..
im going for a light and dark grey button tuck and carpeted interior..
add a wrap around seat into rear bed, install refridgerator, tv/vcr, new stereo system, button tuck front captains chairs, shagged grey carpet..etc etc

thats all i can think of right now but its a work in progress and i hope to finish it by this july..ill add pictures and updates as i go along. until then ill leave an old picture of this beast before i got her.

here is a shot of me finally meeting my van..a long haul from michigan to nashville ..the guy that hauled it was a strange man but cool as hell..check out his ride! looks more like the van should be pulling his wagon..here we're trying to get the damn thing started so we can get it off the trailer.boast1's 1974 Dodge Ram Van
