The Story(ish)
This is my 1988 Ford Crown Victoria, 5.0 V8. Unfortunately, it's in pretty rough shape, I want to fix it up and make it look nice etc, but I happen to be one of the people that I have to be able make the job perfect, or I won't do it. I would like to throw a 351 Windsor into it, however with the gas prices steadily increasing (today saw it at $1.34 a litre) and this car being my only car at the moment, it's going to have to wait.
But, if I was going to do the engine swap, I would take the fenders and front clip off, fabricate some nice steel engine mounts, paint the engine bay all nice and perdy. But, then we come into a complex. If I paint the engine bay, I might as well take the body off the car and paint the frame. If I paint the frame, I might as well strip the body and paint the interior and exterior all nice like. If I do that, I might as well customize the interior. Extensive, and expensive venture.
So, instead of having a $10,000 1988 Crown Victoria, I'm going to buy a Chrysler 300C next spring ('09) and when I can, I'll build a nice roadster cruiser.
The Car
I can't stand driving without good tunes, so I currently have installed:
(2) 6x9" MTX "Dome-Axial" Speakers
(2) 6.5" MTX "Dome-Axial" Speakers
Powered by a 400 watt, 4 channel MTX amp.
(2) 12" 400 watt MTX single coil-over subwoofers
Powered by a 800 watt, single channel MTX amp.
Kenwood Deck with 3 RC outputs (front/rear/subs)
The car is powered by a 5.0l V8 (302ci) with dual 2.5" exhaust.
It's unfortunately been amaturely painted Tremclad Blue by the previous owner. It doesn't look hideous but, it doesn't look too good. There is overspray everywhere, in the engine bay, in the door jams, on the windows...
But, it is a f-ing sweet ride.
