SUSPENSION WORK

This was my response on 2GSS.org about my suspension:

Well I ordered my B&G Springs and rear shocks from sebringLX (Josh) on Friday. He got me the tracking numbers and everything and the stuff was scheduled to arrive on Tuesday. So I wait and wait and wait throughout the weekend, then Tuesday comes. I have to work from 10am-4pm on Tuesday morning. So I'm at work wondering if my stuff is gonna show up. My mom calls me at about 2:30pm telling me that 2 boxes showed up and if that was right. I said yea not even thinking about it. I get home around 4:30pm and I noticed theres only one shock! So I get aggravated, get on the computer to check and see where the other one is. The other shock got left at the shipping facility! ####!!! mad.gif

So i wait through the next day(Wednesday) because I figured it would show up...and it doesn't! mad.gif I go to work all bummed out. Lookin all sad. (Many of you don't know I'm a gas station attendant.) One of the regular FedEx delivery guys comes in. I ask him where he delivers from. He just happened to deliver from the facility where my shock was. I told the guy my dilemma...he told me to give him the name on the package and the address and he would look it up and try and find it. He told me that if he could find it he would bring it back to me because he lived locally. The time rolls by throughout the night and I'm just waiting on him to come in w/ that package. About 7:45pm(worked 3-9) the guy walks in w/ the shock in hand. I just grin when I see him. I look out the door and theres a white 05 Dodge Stratus R/T sitting in the parking lot. This guy is driving it! He asked me bout mine and we got to talking bout it and then we got to talking about his. I got the site out there to him. Told him to check it out.

I get to working on the car this morning, get the rear shock assembly off of the passenger side and look at the mount...its corroded all to ####. Get the other side off...its the same way. I get the springs off and everything...the upper bushings aren't bad, but the lowers are shot. There was pretty much nothing there. So I call local Chrysler and see if they have the parts...and of course they don't. They have the 2 lowers and one upper. I go in and get that stuff and order the mounts while I'm there along w/ the second upper bushing. I bring everything back, start to take everything apart up front...and the bottom bushings on those are shot too! I call Chrysler back and have them order that stuff too. So as of right now, my car is sitting in shambles just waiting for these parts to come in in the morning. God why can't anything be easy! Once I get it put together I'll take pics and post up. Trust me! I'll be all over taking pics.

The suspension really wasn't all that hard to put together it was just the fact of having to wait on parts and make a spacer to be used to lift the back end of the car so m rear tires wouldn't rub the fender wells because of the offset of the rims.

The spacer that my grandpa and I made worked absolutely perfect for what we wanted. We have a lathe in our garage and is just what we used for the spacer. We made a prototype out of a sort of plastic that we aren't quite sure what it actually was but it was hard as hell to cut for being plastic.

This is what we came up with:

After we test fitted the proto on the shock tower we made the final product and got to putting everything back together.

This is what we ended up with as the final spacer:

With this being shown and said this is the final product put together:
