1965 ford mustang 2V 289 sbf with a C4 auto trans. Purchased last february and modifications began right away. My goal is to get her strip ready which has been a slow process over the past year.

Big update: 4/1/2009

what has been done to this date is the following.

Cam carb heads intake change over. Im running a comps 268H cam with a stealth intake, and holley 570cfm street avenger carb. Heads are aluminum Tri state racing cylinder head, with a valve train designed told hold up to a .550" lift cam. Right now Im at about 10 to one compression which is giving me just under 300hp as long as my calculations are right.

The entire front suspension has been redesigned and upgraded. No more bushings, as everything was replaced with roller bearings. New 1" front lowering springs with 1/3 of a coil cut off. roller spring perches, roller UCA's roller LCA's, new shocks on all four corners, bump steer kit installed, low friction screw in style ball joints, moog upper ball joints, midolene strut rod bushings, home made 3/4" lowering blocks for the axle. New wheels and tires on all four corners as well.

Here are some pictures on the front end build up.

Right now my current project is rebuilding a 289 short block:

Parts will be speed pro .030 over forged pistons and rings, Clevitte bearings, H beam rods, blue printed melling HV oil pump, Victor Reinz head gaskets, all new bearings/seals/gaskets. the cam will stay the same along with the rest of the top end. deck for flatness and line honed. Heads will get a diet of about .020 as well. Once the bottom end is completed the setup should have 10.5 to 1 compression and be able to withstand 450 hp.  I should be at just under 350 hp. Cam upgrade along with a converter upgrade will be in the future. more on that later.

here are more pictures of the exterior at a local park. As you can see the only exterior mods have been the teardrop hood and tire/wheel change. the new tire and wheel combo add to the sleeper look as Im not running 275/50's out back anymore. New tire package can be seen at the top of the page with the most rescent picture.

Motor parts are in ie: rods, pistons, bearings, gaskets oil pump and so on. Im taking the pistons to work so I can machine the snap ring lock grooves in the pistons for the floating pins. Im hoping to start tearing the block apart tomorrow, I will post more pictures!!!
