There are 4 main spot with rust through or moderate dents. Basically every corner. And since Mustangs aren't that big to begin with, just to repair the areas is going to require that 60% of the car to be repainted. The perfect excuse to do a major repaint. And since it's a convertible it's going to require less paint. This will be my second complete re-paint.
Coming off the success of the 89 GT Kandy Job, I will now fine tune my skills on this poor car.
Here she is in her rusty prime.
I know she doesn't look that bad in some of the pictures, but its bad.
Here some preliminary work.
The color should look like this when I am done.
Firemist Red - Ordered from TCPGlobal.com
6/04/08 - I got a chance to look at the hood and it had a ton of rock chips. So I decided to putty, sand and scuff the hood tonight. Then I layered on some primer so I can block and get a nice straight hood.
6/15/08 - Preping the car for the second wave of primer and blocking.
Second Wave of Primer. Panels are Laser straight now.
And decided to replace the top.
6/26/08-New paint
Had to reshoot the hood because of orange peel - 7/06/08.

6/1/09 - This car has been traded for a 1976 Ford Ambulance. Those pictures are coming soon.
