The car is a 1962 Galaxie 500. It is a two door sedan that originally had a 352 and a Cruise-o-matic transmission. I bought the car in 95 and drove it for five years. I sold it in 2001 and the buyer pulled the engine and transmission. The car sat from 2001 until May of 2008. Sitting that long is why it is in the shape it is. The car is not as bad as it looks in the pictures. It is a solid Alabama car with a lot of surface rust. The floors are solid and all the trim is intact. I have purchased a parts car that will supply the missing parts. I will be using the front cap from the parts car and power brakes from an aftermarket vendor. I have made arrangements for paint and body work. I want the car to appear stock, but I am going to upgrade the brakes, ignition, steering and charging system. I have a long way to go, but I have my car back that I never should have sold. Current plans include a manual transmission. I am currently fitting it for a Tremec 3550.
