These are the 2 Corvettes that I've had.
1984.
This was one of those impulse buys. I sat in one at a Chevy dealer and made the decision that I wanted one. At the time, I had the 86 IROC. I traded the IROC for the 84 vette. I wanted to get a TPI car, but couldn't find any in my price range...this was before traderonline.com & Carfax. I got the car in July of 93 for $7900. It had 46K on it, but was missing the A/C and some other things. I was a little naive and just bought it, I didn't know too much about the C4 Corvettes at the time. About a week later, I'm driving down the road and suddenly the rear end is going sideways and I'm barely touching the gas. After getting the car to a friends house, we found that one of the rear tie rods had cracked. Other things that were found; other rear tie rod was cracked, no rear bumper absorber(the honey comb part behind the fiberglass), gas tank loose, extra wheel(C4 wheels are directional & there was 1 too many of a direction). It was probably in an accident because it also had the 86 CHSML. A couple of letters from a lawyer got everything fixed. Other things that had to be replaced; fan control switch, fuel pump & motor mounts. The first time I went to the strip , it ran a depressing 16.1@85. About a week later, the fuel filter got really clogged and once I replaced, it ran a 15.16 in the 1/4(with the following mods- ADS stage 3 chip, gutted cat & 160 stat). The 350 was only rated at 205HP, with a 3.08 rear. I sold it for $6300 on 6/94, with 53K. It did handle like it was on rails though.

1985.
I bought this for $5500 on 5/98, with 124K. It was originally bronze , but I only got to drive for a week before it went to the body shop for paint. This was in OK condition when I got it. The paint was fading and peeling, it was real dirty & the interior needed work, but the engine had been rebuilt at 109K. Stock, the car ran consistant 14.9's @ 90-92mph in the 1/4. With the following mods; fan switch, ported plenium, taylor wires, gutted cat, K&N, cut lid, airfoil, MAF screens removed, custom rear y-pipe, flowmaster exhaust , upgraded fuel pump , AFPR & Fastchip stage 2, it ran 14.37@95 . The only thing the car needed was a battery. I had the windows tinted & the wheels are from a GTA, 16X8. I traded this on 5/01 for the 89 Formula 350 & 90 Taurus SHO.
