I want to tell you kids a story...a story about a long lost friend. I had a 81 Jeep J10 that I proudly named Jenny. Jenny was a great truck, she would so anything and go anywhere... but Jenny and I got into an accident, one night heading to pick up my girlfriend, I was side swiped under a redlight send the truck and I over the crub and into a bank parking lot. Needless to say the damage was a good amount this dinky ford taurus knocked out the entire rear and, and drive shaft. Also crushing the bed, fuel tank, and ripping the transmission right out of the mounts and off the block. I was heart broken, not the the truck was smashed up but that I didnt total it on the trails. Nine months creeped by slowly while i searched for a new pick-up. Finally I ran across another 81 J10, sitting in a local 4x4 shop's junkyard, unfortunately the weather had started to eat it away(not saying Jenny was rust free)but a little bit more on the quarters and some surface. So I jumped all over it, with newly aquired insurance check this is how Jillian began....

This is how I found her..... So Time for a little bit of inspecting...

Rear end checked out to me, so I started pulling salvageable parts from Jenny, such as, front end, 4spd trans, transfer, brushguard, grill and headlights...And of course the big 360 tahts is in perfect working order, compaired to the locked up one in Jillian.(above)

Since Jenny had a simple 6in skyjacker kit and 33's i figured why not go bigger on Jillian. So desided to do a leaf over in the front to give me a 10in from stock in the front, and got suburban 8in springs and chackles. In the rear in got 6in blocks and 12in worth superlift suberban leaf spring and chackle kit.(above)

With this large of a lift the angle on the front was way to steep and would have made the steering extremely touchy, and keep in mind I do plan on being able to drive this beast on the main road a little. So I cut the front knuckles and gave them a little twist to get them back close to stock alignment.(above)

Also figured I'd throw a little bit extra to the newly custom machined and cut drive shaft, so I balanced it.(above)

Also with this new lift and truck, big or go home, came into play when it cam to the tires, I didn't want the 33's I had before, so the meat changed to 39.5x13.50x15 IROKZ Super Swamper, not exactly what I wanted but because I wasnt dropping the gears, these tires are lite and wouldn't completely kill my clutch when cruising town in 2 wheel high.

So after a total of 15 months and only $4000 later here is what my Jillian turned out to be.....
