There has been massive confushion over my car. I just recently finally figured out how to add the pictures and the videos so all of you could see them. I am sorry for all the confushion. I now hopefully have everything displayed so you all can view my car. I have also added more recent infomation below. Hope you all like what you see. I have had this same car for almost 30 years.

My mother give the Chevelle the name Barnabas. She has named evey car that has been in the family. The name came from an ols soap opera called Dark Shadows. Barnabas Collins was a vampire and always wore black. When I painted the car I wanted to paint it yellow. Bright, loud, screaming yellow. My wife and friends all had a fit. They said yellow would not look right. I think it would be perfect. If I ever tear it down to do it again rest assured this Chevelle will be yellow. Another thing about this car it has been with me through two wives and several live in girl friends. It has never back talked or left me. An old car is better than a women or a dog. Take good care of it and it will last them all and hand it down to a grandson.

1973 Chevelle SS 502. Producing over 620hp. Crane .610/.632 hydrolic roller cam, lifters, springs, retainers, locks, and pushrods. Cloyes roller timing chain and gear. Crower 1.7 stainless steel roller rockers. The drip rails had to be machined out od the valve covers for clearence. Manley studs and guide plates. Milidon oil pan. Edelbrock Victor Jr. intake port matched the the GM aluminum heads that have been CNC ported. Holley 4150 pro series 950 cfm carberator that has been totally modified by me. MSD billet distributor, 6AL box and wires. Hooker headers. GM turbo 400 manual shift with Power Gluide Performance 3000 stall convertor. Currie Enterprise Ford nine inch, with a Strange case, pinion support, 35 spline axles, a modified Detroit locker and 4:11 Richmond gears. Hotchkis control arms modified machined by me to retain my rear swaybar. The fuel is supplied by a Mallory 140 electric fuel pump. There is all braided steel line and aluminum connectors from the tank to a 1/2 inch aluminum fuel line running up to the engine compartment into a Moroso Y fuel block to more braided steel line and aluminum fittings connecting to the Holley carberator. There is absolutely no rubber fuel line on this car at all. I replaced the wheels and tires a few years ago. It had Rocket Stage 1"s for over about 20 years. I replaced them with Weld Drag Lites. I used 15 X 7 in the front and 15 X 10 in the rear. Mickey Thompson tires. I have two sets of back wheels. One set has SS compound N-50's. The other set has 28 X 13.5 X 15 ET Street Drag Slicks. Supertrap stainless steel mufflers with 3 inch exhaust out the side in front of the rear wheels. This car weighs in at 4270 lbs. Runs 11:53@124 mph. I have owned it since June of 1979 and the restoration was completed in June of 1985. Always remember that there is no substitute for cubic inches.

Recently I have been working on the suspension to get the car to hook up. I put the factory coil springs back with 2" spacers to keep the quarter panels off the tires. I also have added new Edelbrock upper control arms to adjust the pinion angle. I have a buddy the works for JAE Suspension and he said the pinion angle was off. It's definitely getting wieght transfer now. I am still going to tweah the pinion angle a little. It hooks up much better than it has for a long time. I'd put a set of 90/10 drag shocks in the front but they kill the handling on the street and I drive this car. The price of gas slowed me down cruising and I think everyone else down this past summer. If it stays down next summer the old Chevelle is going to see some miles. Anyone who has questions about my 73 fell free to contact me. I have had this car for almost 30 years. Be sure to check out the videos of my car. I have posted 6 videos. This car has absolutley no hesitation at all. From idle to mashed dead to the floor this 502 winds up like a small block. It's one fun to drive tire roasting bear. There has never been a need to power brake this car. Just mash the throttle and smoke is rolling off of the tires. Running 30 to 40 mile per hour if I stand on it it lites up the tires. I will try to get some new videos this coming summer. Always remember that there is no substitute for cubic inches. Thanks for looking.

Thanks to all of you for viewing and voting for my 73 Chevelle SS502. I have had this car it seems for ever. It will be 30 years this coming June. I'm going to try to sell the car and buy something different. After 30 years it's time for a major change. Anyone interested send me an email. I'll take $50,000 for her the way he sits. The car is ready to go, full of fuel and needs nothing. Both sets of rear wheels go with the car. I also have a car cover that will go with it as well.

Tony

During restoration and how bad the car was when I started. Check the rust in front of the rear wheel.

No quarter panels. I think we would ever get done.      Barnabas in his room below.

Do you know how to tell a real 502? I have scene cars at shows with 502 valve cover but they were not 502's. One way to tell a 502 has no place for a manula fuel pump. Another is they have a solid aluminum timing cover.

502 inches of pure Big Block Beast. The items you see close to the fender well are fuel pressure regulators. You would be amazed at the idiots out there at car shows that think they are NOS Controls.

This car almost never gets washed. I wipe it down with cotton diapers, detail rags and water. It's been washed 3 or 4 times in almost 30 years. Washing leaves water in places were it can stand and cause rust. Never wash you car and put it in the garage.

This is a man size car. It's heavy but it has lots of room and still fast.

LOVE IT !!!! This is what I imagined for my 73'ss years ago. I owned the same exact one during my high school days but had some tough times arise and had to let her go. You did a beautiful job on her Anthony. I still have dreams of getting my hands on one again but as you all know they are as rare as rare can be but I will not give up....again..SHE IS BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!
