Engine/Mods Page:
Engine bay with the ETS 3.25 topmount intercooler
ETS tmic. I want to paint the shroud black to make it look nicer or have it polished smooth and glossy silver. I don't like that its worn out from the ram air hood gasket above.
Engine Bay
Stock top mount intercooler
Mazdaspeed cold air intake system
Another engine shot, but with the bov installed
ATP Greddy adapter flange
Ebay imitation Greddy Type-S BOV. I thought it would sound like the real Greddy with the high pitch whistle, but its moore of a powerful koosh sound. Still sounds great tho!
EBAY Fake Greddy
Type-S BOV installed, you can see the Mazdaspeed intake as well.
I really enjoyed the use of my fake greddy type-s but wanted the real Greddy type-S to get that high pitch signature whistle. I found this one in near mint condition with only a minor knock on it. Here is a picture of it before install.
The REAL Greddy has "Greddy" stamped on the side like this one does.
The real Greddy Type-S installed in place of the fake one. I have done the single spring mod and rotated the top for the vacuum line not to touch the inside of the hood ram air ducting. It's mounted to the ATP adapter flange from street unit. I also changes my recirc tubing to blue in this picture.
Replaced the Greddy type-s with the HKS SSQ V2. I love the sound of the greddy type-s in VTA but the car runs terrible and shifts horribly. The HKS is being run in VTA mode right now and the car drives great, no nasty backfires or bad idle or jerky shifts like the Greddy when it was in vta. The sound is ok, its a loud chirp and whoosh, not as nice as the Greddy whistle, but it will do.
The stock silver HKS insert inside, gives off the chirp whoosh sound. I would like to btry the purple insert to see how that sounds as well. You can see my blue recirc tube with a D battery shoved in the end to cap it off.

Broke this piece while installing the vac line:
Mazdaspeed oil cap
Straight pipe in place of one of the resonators, this has also been done to the front resonator and the muffler as well.
At the muffler shop getting the resonators and muffler removed.
Found a used Protege Garage testpipe. Bought it for a good price shipped
Protege Garage testpipe installed in place of the second catalytic converter. Supposedly tested for 10hp and 15ft/lbs torque. It makes the exhaust much more gargly as opposed to how it used to sound bassy with this thing in there since I already have the resonators and muffler chopped off
TWM Performance shifter bushings, make the shifts feel much stiffer and more firm. Much better than the rubbery stock bushings feel!
Corksport Motor Mount Inserts. Help stuiffen up the rear motor mount to make the engine stay in place, shifts feel nicer, reduce wheelhop, and keep the torque on the ground!
Mount uninstalled and the inserts
Inserts fit right into the gaps in the motor mount
Re-installed motor mount. Definately makes the car feel much smoother during shifting, the engine doesn't move around as much, and you can fell the torque hitting the ground much better!
***These corksport inserts have since been replaced. They grew too soft after wearing in and I replaced it with a Street Unit motor mount. Having test driven another speed3 with that mount in it, I thougth it felt perfect and awesome even with the AC turned on and the car idling, so I bought one and sold the inserts. The SU mount is an amazing feel and I have recommended it to many people.
Dropzone lowering springs, 1.4 front and 1.4 rear drop:

Removed the ugly orange amber signal bulb that makes the bowl look orange all the time. Places in Amber 15-led bulbs. Looks clear when off and amber when lit up.
New smoked rear and rear-side reflectors, they light up as well
Had to take the whole bumper off to get these things on
Installed and lit up during the day, very subtle LED look through the smoked tint. Looks great on a silver car!
