BIMMER MODERNIZED CLASSIC
I got this 1602 from someone's g.pa around end of last year. The car was sitting in his garage covered by years of dusts and dirts. I checked the chasis and found no major rust nor defects and bought it the next day! Since then, the car had been in my workshop and just came out a week ago.
The original paintwork was quite alright, so no new paint was done, but major cleaning and detailing was done.
The 2.0L M10 engine (earlier swapped) was replaced with E36 318iS M42 manual trans. That was quite a easy swap but the rear diff was really a tough job. That is, the size is much bigger, and with more power, the rear tends to "wiggle". Well, all was fixed (a full month work).
Running on 14"*8.5" RS Watanabe rims, the car needs Turbo fenders all around. This set fit nicely with H&R full suspension kit (Pro series) with 2" drop all around. It handles superb!
McIntosh sound system is expected next month..
NA engine tuning is being planned on the M42 (getting bored with Turbo and Supercharger on my other projects), but not too sure the return on investment (dollar per HP)...hehehe...
Any thoughts on NA engine tuning are welcome ! dudes !
