this page is the starting of the rebuild from scratch. I decided to pull crank and put all new bearings in.
.
this is the pre checking of the main bearing clearances. right on the money too.

so then i had took it and painted it the famous mopar red. ( all though these motors are mitubishi. sshhh. don't tell anyone.)

all my goodies showed up 3-13-09. now i can start tooling it. had to file on a few lower compression rings. Damn my luck, I had filed one to big. it should have been .022 but it is at .025. Called someone and my dad ( he's a machinest) they both said that i will be allright. So i went back and done them all the same. that way my compression is more equal. Heck, I have a turbo, all i need to do is turn up the boost and fuel.

this is one of the pieces put together. the rod and piston, the most important parts you can put into the lower end. if i had another $800 i would have put in an eagle crank too.

i don't know if you can really see the diference, but the bottom pic of the head is ported. I could have taken a wole lot more out. but, I thought it was good enough. i can stick my finger through easily.

I could only get my crank installed. I figured atleast one parts store would have had rod bearings. Iwas wrong though. they will be in monday with the rest of the seals and misc stuff to finish.
.
I also went ahead and painted my manifold and hot side of the turbo. Makes it look alittle better.
I am also going to mock up the engine alittle . like placement of the fmu. boost solenoid. and other aftermarket hoses. As you could see before in the first page it was lookin pretty bad.
I had almost forgot to show my new sub box. there was a few months that i had gotten bored. so I made myself a fiberglass box. these things aren't that hard to make, but you need to know how to deal with fiberglass, do the homework, and wear latex gloves. The site i looked at had that has a hint to keep the mess to a minimal. It's not a hint, it is a must! i took about a week todo. that is spending an hour a night on it. i wasn't in no hurry with, except at the end when i painted it. i thought the paint was dry and when i went to slide it in the trunk it hit the lid of the car. I greatly advise to bolt these boxes with atleast 2 bolts. The box might crack if you use only 1. I also had that problem, had to install the second. The sound quality greatly improved though. You can really make them air tight. I had even went to the extent to put black RTV around the sub mount. Since it is only rtv it will easily clean up if you need to redo. Only on fiberglass or smooth surface, don't try that on carpeted boxes.well here it is let me know what you think of it. it is my first one.
