Suspension
This is an area that i have paid a large amount of attention to on this car. Mainly because without traction, power is useless. You have to be able to apply what you have to make it functional.

The first thing done, was due to the large amount of drag racing i do, the independant rear suspension that the cobra's come with was discarded for a much more dependable solid axle. This eliminates one of the weak spots in the rear end of the car. Granted it adds some harshness to the ride, and takes away a little handling, but when the main concern is going straight, its no loss in my book. The axle contains a pair of Mosier 31 spline axles and an Eaton true trac diff. I have kept the Mustang GT brakes that were on the live axle to allow for the 15" wheel i run with the slicks. As for control arms, i use a pair of UPR Exterme upper control arms, coupled with a pair or HPM megabite JR lowers. The rear has a pair of eibach drag launch springs with the single right rear air bag to help dial in the launch.

Due to the forces of launch from over 6k Rpm on the 10.5" Mickey Thompson slicks i run on, both the upper and lower mounting points for the rear control arms have both been welded up. This also helps strengthen the car and helps propel in harder on the launch. Also i have added a set of full length Upr Subframe connectors. These have been welded on for added strength. These things help achieve the consistant 1.5 sixty foot times that i currently run.
Up front i have disposed of the factory k-member in favor of a much lighter PSR K-member. This helped shave of over 60lbs from the front end. While adding the k-member, i opted to install a set of MMR coilovers, and lakewood 90/10 shocks. I topped that off with a set of maximum motorsports 4-bolt caster/camber plates.
A comparison of the factory K-member next to the PSR K-member.

All these mods assist with making launches like this happen...

How could i forget about one of my favorite additions. Not the easiest to add, but oh my it is so worth it!
The SLP line lock...
Makes things like this possible...
Heres a few shots of what torque can do to poly suspension bushings, there are a set of upr chrome moly Lower control arms that i WAS running. They could not hold up to the abuse. and after swapping them out three times, i upgraded to the HPM's that are seen earlier in this page.
Just a nice sunset shot for the hell of it....
