bed mods

i picked up the 4x4 bed for $190 at pick-n-pull in chandler, arizona, it was pretty straight, except for the area near the gas door. it had a hacked up previous repair.

bed seams

my brother welding the bed seams shut. we first tacked every inch or so, then welded in between every other tack. then finish weld and grind the area.

tail lights

installed 99 cadillac deville taillights flipped upside down and side to side, but i didn't take any pics of the install. i hand hammered my own taillight fillers, and reshaped the entire rear of the bed to match the taillights. i want a smooth tailgate skin w/ no body lines so i tapered them off in the rear as well. i used taillight buckets from www.airbagit.com, i highly recommend them, they are built better than a lot of other manufacturers.

bed frame

i'm planning a full sheetmetal bed, so i fabbed up a tube frame that the sheetmetal will weld to. the center will be open to show the supra I.R.S., and covered with plexiglass.

various other crap

since i cut off the bottom of the bed i made new plates for the bottom and also shaved the gas door. i also plugged the holes for the splash shields, but don't have pics yet.
