History of MY Maxi Taxi

More pictures to come!!!!!!!

Take a look at the bottom of this page for pictures of the engine out.

This is a late 60's kit car made by Bremen Motorsports for the VW bettle.

Curently it has a 1600cc flat four from a 1970 VW and 4 speed manual trans. But at the moment it is not running. It got too hot one day in the summer and melted down 3 of the 4 spark plug wires and tehn shot the back left plug right out of the head. But it should be a all good for 2009 summer fun.

This car has no modern stuff in it. And no new parts it is as it would have been in the 70's. It even still has the polyglass tires on here still which are way out of round and will be replaced this year with some new radial tires,

This is the way we found it sitting. It had been this way with the cover over it for over 3 years with out running. And in this Michigan weather it amazed us that it was in such good condition.

The way it got to its new home.

Engine coming out

We now have the engine out as you can see. It came out very easy as we thought it would. Four bolts and a tug and it came right out. We now have the engine in the garage (as you can see from the picture) now since it is winter here in Michigan right now. We hope to replace this engine or have this one rebuilt.

And this is how it is now. Looks like in the spring we will be starting all over.
