The Project

nvzooki's 1987 Suzuki SamuraiThis is how she looks, a little less than 4 months after I started.

nvzooki's 1987 Suzuki SamuraiThis is what I started with, a stock 1987 Zuki that I bought locally for $2500. Now I will take you through all the steps.

nvzooki's 1987 Suzuki Samurai The first big step was a lift, which I got from Calmini. It included 1 1/2" springs, 2" Shackle Reverse, new shocks and poly bushings.

nvzooki's 1987 Suzuki Samurai It took 3 days, mostly of prep work, but I rolled and brushed my own DURACOAT bedliner across the entire interior, from firewall to tailgate.

The NEXT steps are on the following pages, and will be updated as they are completed. The Off-Road pics are on the last page.

Shakazuku- No problem with the tires rubbing, but I have downsized to about 29's. I live in MT now, and the smaller tires cut through the snow better. As for the duracoat, the hard part was the prep work, getting all the undercoat, etc off. After that, it was just painting it on. It has held up SUPER. No wear at all, and it is my daily driver up here. I do have floor mats, so that helps. I am VERY happy with it.

Hey awesome zook. One question tho, do those 31's rub at all with the calmini 3.5" lift? I'd like to do something similar. Also, how hard was the whole duracoat project, and how's it holding up?

cheers.
