Progress Report:
The last day i finished packing and did some searching, Found some stock s10 wheels with low milage and jump on them. They currently look like this but we have some ideas up our sleaves for a more modern look.

Oh ya the manzanita came the day before i left! we have all the parts, or at least the ones that were on order.

The same day i also went hunting for some stock U bolts for a chevy s10. i Didn't realize how hard they would be to find but i guesse its not something that normaly breaks. every store had lowering springs, but no stock hieght ones. the reason we needed them is because the truck had aftermarket lowering blocks and U bolts and the bolts didnt have enough thread to be used without the blocks. anyways i eneded up and a 18wheeler parts store and they bent up New U bolts in a couple of minutes for Really cheap. No pics:(
So its been awhile since the last update because we were crunching to get as much work as we could get done before i left for college. i do not have dates for any of the work that we have done, but i will try my best to show everything that has been done in the few weeks we had before i left for Cal Poly Slo... my present to my mom her car back in her garage! yes that means the bed is on the truck(with hinges Don't have the pics with me:(

JOE'S FUN!!!
So i was cleaning the rear of the frame with the steel brush and i keep looking at the diff anf thought it could use a little something something. So i got creative....... see if you can fallow my thought process ... :)

So i'll start with were we left off on the battery box. last post we talk about what needed to be done to get it test fitted.

Final positioning bolts with pipes as spacers.

last test fit First test fit!
Afterwards i took a steel brush to the entire back half of the frame for the front of the cab back and removed all the surface rust and factory paint. laid a layer of dupli color rust fix as a primer and put a couple of coats of duplicolor flat black on it. it looks 10X better! now were looking good.

black paint with a layer of dirt from putting the box in. But you can tell the difference(crossbar has primer/\ )

Rust fix primer

steel brush before
after we cut the e-brake, moddified the mount for the shocks, and cut the differential. we took the box out and cut more off of the differential and removed the front passenger side bolt from the lid of the battery box. we were able to mock up and cut holes for the bolts to mound the box. I forgot taking pictures of drilling the holes but here is before

we had pipe left over on the side of the house from something i don't know what, but we cut it and used it like a spacer for the rear bolts because it was easier than boxing the frame there. we are planning on going back and making this sturdier later down the road, but for now this should work.

Today we worked on getting the box between the rails to make sure it fit. we had to remove the emergency brake because the cables were in the way which you can kind of see in the pictures.

We thought we might be able to un thread the emergency brake cable from the drum so we took it apart and realized we couldn't! so we had to go back and put it together, thankfully chuck our unclehappen to have stopped by with some brake tools and put the drum brakes together in a flash.

We ended up cutting the the cable and cutting the mounting brackets for them out to fit the box in. after some trimming of the bump mounts we got the box between the frame. There we found our current problem, the driveshaft differential and tranny are all a little cock-eyed to the right. still pondering what to do...

after a lot of loud banging that the neighbors probably loved, sorry guys:( , we got the two cross members out we needed to remove to fit the battery box in. they were a serious pain.

we also go the final motor mount out. seriously could they have made it any harder to remove the motor mounts? the right side wasn't to bad because it looked like the previous owner must have cut a whole in the frame that work perfectly to get to the back of the bolts. but the left side we had to pull the shock spring and lower control arm just to be able to reach a wrench all the way up the frame from one of the control arm mounts to get to the backside of the bolt. But there off now!

Heater
The old heater ran by getting heat of the coolant heated by the motor, so it will need to be replaced by an electric motor.
Here you can see were the fan blows the air from the engine bay.
This is what it looks like from the inside of the cab behind the dash.
This is what the old coolant heater core looked like
Without it
Where the new one is gonna have to go, but it needs a bracket.
We found the old plastic skid plate for the gas tank which we won't be needing, and it just happen to be just the right size. mocked up a bracket
Cut it out, bolted it on, and presto the gas tank skid plate is the heater bracket.
Tried out a new degreaser, works like a charm...

sorry for the soso pictures.(4hours[Jacob&Joe])

full exhaust: brackets and connections to headers(hardest bolts ever to remove). bed bolts(now the bed is completely detached), and removed the wheel wells (to get to the exhaust brackets), (4hours[Jacob&Joe])
The wheel wells are gone!
Other side, without moving these the exhaust bolts would not have come out.

Today we got the truck up on some short jacks up after replacing the oil in the jack. After getting it up we were able to pull the battery, battery box, radiator, radiator support and tubing, and drained all one and half gallons of oil, and 256oz of the coolant. The battery box just like the radio had a little surprise instore for us(see photos). (Jacob 2hours, Joe4])
On Jacks probably closer to the actual ride hieght.
