Hello everyone, Thank you for visiting my autoXsaab page. This is my 2nd turbocharged car.
My first was a 1987 944 Turbo that I modified, unfourtunately I sold that car many years back.
Ever since then I have been obcessed with turbo charging technology. If you are looking at
this page you are probably familiar with the heritage of Saab. They were the first car company
offer a production turbo vehicle over 60 years ago. Saab has the most sophisticated turbo
charging systems in the industry. If you disagree, you can argue with the number of sensors
on my engine. Thank you again for viewing my page.
Saab engines are similar to those used by Audi in that they use recirculating bypass vales
rather than atmospheric blow off valves. The Trionic 7 computer managment uses the
information, in real time, from all the sensors to determine the correct amount of boost for
the best fuel economy. Additionally, the trionic system is one of only a few which is a learning
system. Meaning, the vehicle will behave according to the way you drive. If you floor it all this time
it will begin producing more HP and torque. Drive it gently and it will retune fror best gas milage. It
is an incredible system, but can be very irritating.
