LS1S30’s Datsun 240Z

    • Currently 4.2/5 Stars.

This is my 73' 240z that I built from the ground up. Its a purpose built car for road racing. I did an LS1 swap on the car along with many other mods.

I did a complete strip down on the car, down to the frame and built it back up. Every bolt and component is new and built up. It started with sandblasting and fabrication, then the agonizing process of making every piece that was not OEM (which was about everything).

Here is short list of the main components on the car:

Engine and Tranny: LS1, w/ T-56 race ready unit
Drivetrain: Chevy driveshaft to a R-200 diff w/ 3.54 gears and CV's
Suspension: Custom coilovers, koni adjustables, and all the little things (bushings, camber plates, etc.)
Brakes: Big brake kit w/ slottled and drilled rotors all around
Exhaust: True dual, straight 2.5 inch pipes.
Wheel/Tire: Diamond Racing wheels, road race series 16X8 front, 16X10 rear.
Fuel System: Fuel safe fuel cell, stainless hose, holley inline pump and filters
Cage: Full custom, with complete frame reinforcement
Seats: Sparco, Corsa seats + harness
Instrument Panel: Auto meter gauges and other fabricated electronics.
Fire system: Soon to be installed
Other: Lexan windows all around

Wow man totally love the car and swap, it all looks so damn good. I'm hoping to make a similar car for road and hpde use over the next few years once I find a good Z to start with on the cheap. Nice to see your car for inspiration.
