These are pics of my brother's 1986 Jetta Diesel. It is a 2dr 5spd with no options. It started off in my father's hands, when he bought it in the spring of 2000. It was dark blue at the time, and had fairly high kms. Had the standard, boring-looking 13" rims. The headliner was sagging and the material was no longer attached to the door panels. These crappy pics were taken shortly after he bought it.

It was soon painted black, and the interior panels and headliner were replaced. He also found some nice trim rings for those rims.

He later added a euro plate on the front, as well as the 14" snowflake rims that originally came on my
'87 Jetta Wolfsburg. This is my father, proud of his car. You can see my old Jetta parked beside it. since these pics he also installed a newer 3-slot grill, off an 89-92 Jetta.

My father kept this Jetta until the spring of 2008, when he sold it to my younger brother Josh, who also owns a '92 Dodge Colt. This Jetta now has over 700K on it, and still runs like it's new. My father kept the snowflake rims for his '87 VW Fox, as well as the euro plate. My brother has already done a big bumper swap, and installed a CD player with new speakers and a custom homemade sub box which he built and wrapped in leather himself.

Josh has a set of 16" ASA (by BBS) 5-spoke rims which are going on this, as soon as he buys new tires for them. I will keep this updated with pics.

Josh bought a set of 205/40/16 Falken tires for his ASA (by BBS) rims and has them mounted now. Also tinted the front turn signals and marker lights. I think we'll be lowering it this weekend, and he plans to tint the amber turn strip on the tailights black. After that, future plans include either a homemade badgeless grill, or a quad round headlight conversion.

The latest pics. We lowered the Jetta down approx 2", and he did a tint job on the tailights, tinting the amber turn signal strip completely black and a slight coat of tint on the rest. Brought it out to my place to take some pics next to my SR5 Corolla.

Check out my father's current rides on page 2

Please don't forget to rate this ride! Thanks for looking
