Well my Lexus died... unfortunate but after 200,000 miles it was about time. So my Mom decided she wanted a Honda Fit, 6 months later the car is mine. I was officially given the car Jan 2008. Since then I have got the car tinted 20% all around. I've also done quite a bit with the audio. About 2 days after I got the car I installed the head unit from the Lexus, an Alpine CDA-9833, with the AUX input for my mp3 player. At the begining of May 2008, I decided to pull out the entire interior of the car and sound deaden it. I'm on a tight budget so I used Peal'n Seal, liquid eDead, carpet padding, and the new Peal'n Seal replacement at Lowes (its pretty crappy, only 20mil). While I was sound deadening I also ran the wires for my amplifier, Elemental Designs nine.2 which will be powering my 2 Tang Band W6-1139 woofers that are in the rear doors. The great thing about the Fit is its ability to "fit" everything. Being a college student I have to move my shit around pretty often. I'm from Atlanta and go to school 400 miles away. Now I'm going up North for 7 months to work. With all the moving around the Fit is great for moving all my stuff. So a stealth install is what I really wanted. I searched around a lot to try and hide the amplifier, but if I want to be able to fold down the seats there is not a good place to hide it. I didn't want to mount the amplifier to the back of the seat, becuase it coule get hurt when I load the car up. So I decided to mount it on the trunk side pannel. This is a place that will likely not get hit by objects and will alow me to access my spare tire if needbe. Functionality of the Fit is what my goal was. Now I'm sure the extensive sound deadening that I'm doing is not neccesary for 2x 6.5" subwoofers placed in the rear doors, but since the Fit is a rather inexpensive car, it was build like an inexpensive car. Therefore it is loud on the highway. The road noise is soo killer that talking to a passenger in the backseat was near impossible. So I decided to kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Since the car is so young and I will have it for a long time, I'd like to make it enjoyable. Upgrading the sound system, making the car quiter, and tinting the windows was a great mod as well. The tint really adds a lot to the car. Not only is cooler inside the car during the hot summer days, but since its not as bright it seems more elegant. You are more relaxed and comfortable in the lighting rather than overwhelmed with the sunlight coming through 10 different windows on a white car.
Enjoy
