There were two engines in the 5th gen Maxima. The one in the 00-01 models was the VQ30DE pushing roughly 222HP with a 3.0L engine and a 5 speed manual. The engine in my Maxima, or the 02-03, is the VQ35DE - the same as Infiniti's I30, and used throughout a lot of Nissan and Infiniti's line.
Its rated at 255 horse, 240 torque. 0-60MPH is 6.1 seconds, and Im pretty sure its governed at about 230 Km/h. Ive never tested any of those specs but its quick for a family sedan. I'll have it dynoed May 10th for a more accurate reading though.
