This is my current project, an '89 CAMARO RS restoration. This is moving along slowly due to lack of time, funds, and the fact that it is stored at a seperate location from where I live. Anyhow, the original 305 V8 had a spun bearing and was not worth saving. My future plans include an updated dash, updated electronics, LT1 engine, and a 5 or 6 speed. The pictures below are the most recent.

UPDATE:

11/9/09-Water pump issue is solved. I rebuilt a Camaro LT1 waterpump and installed it after I drilled out the broken bolt. I also just noticed that the balancer spins free. So, it is bad and has to be replaced. I am also trying to route the fuel lines and collecting some other parts.

8/22/09-I had a bit of a setback today. I was installing the water pump and one of the bolts snapped. To make matters worse, there is only a small amount of thread sticking out of the hole. I tried welding a nut to it, but that didn't work out so well. I'm at a standstill until I can get this out. I did not want to resort to drilling it. What a mess. My new engine paint is getting dirty and uhh......

Rich2279's 1989 Chevrolet Camaro My dad and I installed the engine very easily (hood removed). The wire, that is visible in the picture, is holding the back end of the engine level since I do not have a transmission. 8/12/09

You have a clutch pedal... that mean you're going T56? It's so much fun!

Nice project, it's a lot of work, I'm doing the same thing when I have time to get out to the garage to work on it.
