Mazda’s first in a series of factory-engineered MAZDASPEED models. Bragging rights encompass more than 1,000 performance and styling modifications.

The 2003.5 MAZDASPEED Protégé is powered by a turbocharged, 2.0-liter, 16 valve, four cylinder engine. Fully engineered, quick-boost turbocharging system using a Garrett T25 ball-baring turbocharger and factory air-to-air intercooler co-developed with legendary Calloway Cars. Factory equipped with a five-speed manual transmission, a Tochigi Fuji Sangyo KK Super torque-sensing limited-slip differential, and 24 mm driveshafts.

Racing Beat-developed high-performance suspension system including front strut-tower brace; Tokico dampers, higher-rate coil springs and large diameter front and rear stabilizer bars. Four wheel Euro-spec disc brakes with 11-inch rotors and high friction pads.

Exterior upgrades include custom Blazing Yellow Mica Metallic Paint. A race-inspired front air dam, side and rear skirts, large race inspired rear spoiler, and new aggressive Dark Hyper Silver 17-inch alloy wheels exclusively custom designed by Racing Hart.

Technically patterned cloth seats inserts improve lateral support while electric yellow stitching snakes around the seats and three-spoke, leather-wrapped, two-tone steering wheel. A black leather shift boot also stitched in yellow, and aluminum and leather MAZDASPEED logo shift knob complement the interior. Also stamped with the MAZDASPEED moniker are the aluminum foot pedals.
