2007 Mercury Milan Touring Car

2.3L Duratec Inline-4

 Performance:

I didn't touch the engine as the car isn't going to win any races.  It gets out of it's own way which is fine for NJ traffic.  It does handle though.  I've added a Tanabe strut tower brace which I'll probably swap out soon for a Steeda one.  I installed a Steeda rear sway bar with their larger endlinks as well.  It's about 200% stiffer than stock now.  To get it to stop I put on Stoptech drilled rotors all around with EBC greenstuff pads.  The EBS pads bite but leave lots of dust, so don't belive what you read on the box about less dust.  I went 1" + in rim size from stock and then put Goodyear Eagle GT tires on to help with the overall driving dynamics of the car.  The tires are Z rated which was a mistake by the tire shop.  I put them on anyway.  I recently removed the Steeda CAI because it was too noisy for me and didn't really add anything else other than the noise.

Exterior Mods:

I like subtle but different.  I added an M3 lip spoiler on the trunk and a 3D carbon roof spoiler so the back isn't so bland.  Almost every light in the car was switched w/ LED's from autolumination.com.  Headlights are now HID 35W 6000K H11's.  The carbon fiber side pillars sound ricey but they look really good on the car to me.   Ordered a keypad from Ford to be able to get in the car w/o keys and then painted it to match.  I also painted the spoilers myself to save some cash.

Interior and Electronics:

Gall's Visor LED(I'm a firefighter/EMT), Wheelskins steering wheel cover (looks great), Apple ipod nano 5th gen, Escort passport 8500 X50 blue, Magellen Maestro 4040 GPS, Ford Flex shift knob, Weathertech floor liners front and rear, Steeda door sills, Steeda billet alum. power seat button, Steeda intake resonator delete,  Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD,  Infinity Reference 6x8's in all the doors, Sirius SCC1/SB10, and the PAC controller.

Future mods:

Milan OEM two tone leather seat swap, Possibly an in dash GPS but that's later, OEM Phillips PS2 HID's.  Other than that..I think it's time to call this one done until the next car comes.

A few reciepts.  Mostly from Steeda.  I've got more hidden from my wife too.

Eric, I respect your approach to modding and performance, it's right out of my own book frankly and I as well as anyone can appreciate your efforts. Your car looks fantastic and I personally consider it one of the very best Milans I've seen to date, 5x5 stars to you.
