"My Mothers friend works for a law firm in Redwood City (Nor-Cal). I heard about the car 4 years ago
- Prior to my car being around - A kid had an 1988 Firebird and was in an accident. The kid
was trying to take a 90 degree turn at about 60 mph. Unfortunatly for some reason he was
unable to apex that corner, and hit a pole and killed his friend. Noob... He was badly
injured and Im not quite sure if he lived or not. His family decided to try to sue the
county, Somthing about a sign not being well displayed. With this event on a roll, the Law
firm that was protecting the county wanted to purchase a 1988 Pontiac Formula Firebird 350
to "re-create" the scene. Accelerating to 75 miles an hour the employer from this law firm
took the turn with ease and confidence. Adding this information to the case and matching
the speed and conditions to the police report, was an easy verdict for the jury to decide.
The vehicle used in the re-enactment was stored with the rest of the vehicles in a high
security storage unit locked away for 4 years. 4 years after the case was closed, Joe,
the owner of the firm tells my Mother's friend that these vehicles are to be extracted,
so he can stop paying for the on going bill on the storage (The bill added up over time
to about 20k). Diane, My Mother's friend said that Joe is trying to get rid of these cars
at any cost even if it means giving them away. Diane knowing that Im a 3rd generation
f-body enthusius wasted no time and notified my Mother and I of the free vehicles. Of
course we said yes. There were actually 2 Firebirds - One 1991 Pontiac Firebird SSA with
a rare 3.1 liter, and a Black Freshly painted 1988 Pontiac Formula Firebird. Of course I
wanted the black one! I didnt know what kind of motor was in it yet. The Morning we went
to go pick up the cars they had a lay of dust on them. The first thing I noticed were the
rims. I wasnt very fond of them at first. The head lights were stuck open and the gas cap
was missing along with the gas door. The tires were completly bald and wheathered. It did
come with an LED light theme for KNIGHT RIDER. Jeff and I opened the hood and saw a Tuned
Port Injection motor - At the time we didnt know if it was a 5.0 or a 5.7 (according to
the VIN number.. its a 5.7 "L98-350") It definatly sounded like it need a tune up, I could
tell it was missfiring the moment it started up. The red 91, was in worst condition,
although the paint and interior was emaculate... The 88's paint was perfect, interior was
clean, aside from a small tear in the seat. With no time wasted both the cars were on
there way home. My Mother claimed the 91 and I aquired the 88. Needless to say, Jeff was
overjoyed, They procceded to detail and inspect the engine and exterior. The car was
amazing. After a tune up and some time, the vehicle is my daily driver and with full power
restored. Im starting on modifications now. I wanted a loud car so I thought magnaflow
was the idea, and well Its not loud enough for me. As for rims Im looking at some that
resemble the C6 Z06 rims. Jeff and I have a Mod list thats gonna take me a little time to
save up for, Non the less Im absolutly crazy about my car.

Katie, wow, what a story behind this car! It's a very beautiful car, take good care of it, wheels that resemble those of a Z06 Vette will look amazing on that car. Check out my 03' 30th Anniversary Pontiac Grand Am GT1 Sedan w/ the SC/T package and let me know what you think.
