73RoadRunner440's 1966 Chevrolet Bel Air My 1966 Bel Air 2 door post. Original miles unknown, but odometer shows 86,453 miles. In the body shop right now, getting painted viper black. It originally had an inline 6, with a powerglide. For wheels I have the Rocket Racing wheels which are shown, and I also have a set of steel wheels painted to match the body with 1968 dog dish caps.

73RoadRunner440's 1966 Chevrolet Bel Air The interior is in pretty good shape for being original, except for the steering wheel and radio. An Ididit steering column is going in and so is a Sunpro 5" tach with a blue shift light and a B&M Unimatic shifter with a polished aluminum T-handle.

73RoadRunner440's 1966 Chevrolet Bel Air I like the way that it sits, a little low in the front, and a little higher in the back. I have air shocks waiting to be installed. Thinking about getting drop spindles for the front.

73RoadRunner440's 1966 Chevrolet Bel Air It was originally a straight 6. This was the old 350 that was in the car when I bought it.It's a 1968 2 bolt main motor. It had hardly any compression but it was a pretty strong runner for what it was. So i found a 4 bolt main 350 out of a 1970 pickup. Had it bored .030 over, Manley flat top pistons, 10.5 to 1 compression, balanced and blueprinted, ARP studs and bolts throughout, fel-pro gaskets, Melling oil pump, RHS Pro Action cast iron heads-180cc intake runners 74cc combustion chambers, Manley 2.02/1.6 valves, Comp cams pushrods, lifters, and springs, Comp Xtreme Energy cam-.462/.469 lift, 262/270 duration, Edelbrock Torker intake, Holley 650 Double Pumper, Carter Super Strip fuel pump, Clevite 77 bearings, and an Accel HEI distributor. The motor made 345hp at 5000 rpm, and 386ft/lbs torque at 3100 rpm. When I pulled the TH-350 out, it was smoked, and the fluid was burned, and it has been rebuilt with extra disks. Battery is now mounted in the trunk. The motor is actually done as of 1/25/09, and I also have a L34 396 out of a 1966 Impala that will be going in sometime in the future.

Here is a picutre from the front, I don't really think that it does the car justice.

Here is just another view of the tired old 2 bolt main 350.

And this is the old Suntune II tach. I don't know what I'm going to do with it since i have the 5" Sunpro now. Can anybody give me an estimate on its vintage?

David looks good, Have any good contacts for parts; sheet metal, lights etc. What kind of suspension, brakes do you have, original? You may find the drop spindles at http://www.classicperform.com/ . They listed them but didnt have them went I was looking, market wasn't there att he time however its been a while and since then I went another direction I found it hard to find aftermarket parts for this yr car.
