This is how it is sitting in my shop right now. I am gutting it out.
The flash on my camera makes the interior look worse than it actually is. Original floor pans have only surface rust.
The car still wears the original JF8 paint, and Road Runner stripes.
I like the classy addition of a trailer hitch. Don't worry, it's not going to stay.
The hood says 400 because the car originally had a 400 High Performance, and a 727 Torqflite. Both of those were thrown out by the previous owner.
This is what the 440 looks like now, it needs quite a bit of work. The bearings were completely trashed, and the oil was almost like grease, and there are some pretty nasty ridges in the tops of the cylinders.
The dash has the no frills 120 mph speedometer, and no tach. I am going to find a 150 mph speedometer and find a factory tach, and replace the rest of the gauges.
My plans for the car include:
Engine- Bored .030 over
Clevite 77 bearings
New Rods
Cast Pistons
Port & Polish
3 way valve job
Comp Hyd. lifter cam
Mopar Performance Ignition
Holley Fuel Pump
Edelbrock Torker Intake
Proform 850 Carb
Tranny- Rebuild on the A833 4 speed
Centerforce Clutch
Hurst Pistol Grip
Chassis- Lakewood traction bars
Hurst Line Lock
Fill the 8 3/4 rear end with a 3.55 sure grip
Body & Interior - Will be painted the original JF8 green with white stripes
Interior will be the same Evergreen
