Just getting started with this page. I've had this Cougar since 1981, my third one. This one has gone through a complete resoration twice... hmmm, never done, and never satisfied...

CougarXR71's 1971 Mercury Cougar

Previous resorations (1983-1995) included completed stip-down, acid dip most body panels, Painted chassis to match body, Rebuilt 351 Cleveland, Rebuilt C-6 tranny, rebuilt 9" axel including 4:11 gears, and too many little extras to list.

Prior to the last body resto (2006), the engine went through another rebuild.
