Being the type of person that cannot leave anything alone, the first upgrade is a Hayward trans cooler from Pep Boys, I figured that this AODE/4R70W probably 'thinks' its pulling a trailer compared to a being in a Mustang or another smaller car!

The installation kit calls for a #252, and they had one, but that didnt work for me, not even close..I put everything back together and I went back to PB, and they also had a #394 on the shelf not listed in the installation docs at all, but it looked like it might work, and it did.. I hope the quality of the cooler is better than the quality of their docs and instructions.

The medium duty #403 cooler itself down below

The top side connections (the Brass fittings are in kit #394) On my 93, the top connection is the exit from the radiator and the correct point of connection for the new cooler.

Cost about $50 and 2 hours work, but I'm only a half-fast mechanic

Hey, it's been a long time since I've signed your guestbook. Heh, actually the Mercury was never mine, but rather my mom's. It has 32k miles now...

Nice cars you have! I'm definitely partial to the Vic, though. Which car does the quarter mile in 15 seconds? Hehe, not either of the Panthers. Figure 16.6 at 84 MPH for the Victoria, something like 17 flat at 80 for the Mercury with 2.73 gears.

Hope to talk to you soon!

Nice Crown Victoria. The whitewalls are definitely the way to go. Keep up the good work on it. Sign my g-book. Thanks!
