I bought this black Daewoo Lanos sport with 137k miles on 4/1/08. I came to the realization if I crashed my Lacetti at the track I'd cry myself to sleep every night for months. haha. So I wanted a cheaper, yet very fast car. This Lanos will be stupid quick for the little amount of money put into it. Once it's up and running I'm finally installing my turbo componets on my Lacetti. Since I'm dropping the same engine (U20SED) into the Lanos then all my old N/A parts will work. The timing belt went on the factory 1.6 engine so it isn't working...no idea on what's damaged yet. The engine in it has had $1,250 worth of head work done very recently so I'll be fixing it and selling it or parting it out (email me if interested).

Mods or new OEM parts on the car:
-New tie rods
-New fuel pump at 100k
-New radiator
-New water pump
-New Kenwood KDC-MP2032 CD/MP3
-New 4x6 and 4" speakers
-1.25 Eibach lowering springs
-2.0L engine (U20SED) with D20 tranny
-Kinky 4-2-1 performance headers
-Kinky 2.5" mid-pipe w/ quickly removable (V-band kit)HI-flow CAT
-Kinky 2.5" CAT-back w/ magnaflow resonator & muffler
-BMS performance cold air intake
-Alpine 12" 4ohm type Rs
-Kinky short shifter
-Kinky lightweight UD pulley
-Grounding
-Ignition wires
-Custom Baltic birch sub enclosure
-12.2" drilled/slotted fron Wilwood big brake kit with large superlite calipers and hawk HPS pads.

Plans in order of time (soonest to furthest away time wise):
-Sell leather seats & trade the rest of the leather components for cloth
-~3,500 watt amp for subs. Probably hifonics
-Alarm system
-Rear dise conversion; Drilled/dimpled & slotted rear rotors w/ SS lines, OR wilwood custom BBK
-Custom front lip
-Chassis brace
-Apex sport suspension kit (maybe coil-overs) lowering 2.4" front and 1.7" rear OR coil-overs
-Strut braces
-Perfect Power SMT-6 piggy back unit
-Walbro higher flow fuel pump
-Slightly bigger injectors
-Sway bars
-Black/blue G-force racing seats
-11.5:1 compression pistons; If I decide to keep with an N/A build
-Clutch kit with lightweight flywheel (whenever OE clutch goes out)
-KDM black headlights

I'd love to stay N/A and build it slightly aggressive using all the resources possible to keep cost down. Like factory pistons from another car to raise compression, that kind of thing. What it will really come down to since it's a budget build is what I decide what kind of power levels I want. If it's anything less than 200whp I'll likely stay N/A...anything more and a turbo build would be much much cheaper. I'm also considering painting the car a pearl white and keeping some parts black like the hood and mirrors.

The build has been on hold due to some back ordered parts which should arrive mid August.
