This is a Model A Sport Coupe that I will start on after repairing the front damage to my '68 C-10. The owner of this Model A suffered some heart problems, and had an operation to place a defibrillator in his chest, so he has been cut off the privilege of operating some of the tools that are common with restoration of classical automobiles. He has decided to sell some of the cars, knowing that he might never get to fix them up himself.
So, this is the Model A that he's selling to me. What I am going to do is I will just basically piece the body back together. The passenger side fender is in the cut down cab behind the Model A, along with the trunk lid, rear valence, the panel that goes between the trunk and the belt line, and some panels from a Model A 5 Window.
As you can see, it is missing its cowl, but I have found one through one of my car club members, and he will be giving it to me within a few days time.
Here, you can see that the passenger side fender is not on the body, but it will come with the body when I go to get it along with the 5 window coupe parts. I haven't really set it in stone that it will be a roadster, as seeing that there is also the opportunity to make a 5 window coupe. So far .. I'm leaning towards a roadster. I think it would be possible to make a removable 5-window hardtop, but I don't know yet.. This is my first Model A to fix up, so I do not know how that'll work out.. any thoughts about the hardtop?
