Our RS6 Turbo Project
They come with the new flanges (pictured) that need to be welded on to your existing or new down pipes- other than that they are a FULL Bolt on.
Their specs are as follows as compared to a regular RS4 K04.
compressor wheel RS4: 40mm inducer, 51mm exducer
compressor wheel RS6: 42mm inducer, 56mm exducer
The turbine housing a/r is much larger.
There will be a lot of gains on the hotside due to its larger size.
Example- these full RS6 turbos vs. a hybrid k04 with just RS6 compressor wheels. The straight RS6's will make more hp due to the larger hot side.
I just finished the final prototype for the JHM FMIC that fits behind the stock bumper(with some cutting and massaging of course). You basically haveve to remove half of the bumper support between the mount brackets and eliminate your headlight squirters. So unless you need your headlight squirters or are worried about taking a pole right to the center between the bumper brackets you should be fine. Like many mods, you have to sacrifice something for performance. I based this kit on the low cost and successful Ebay core. Dan and I both ran this core in our cars during our record setting K03 and K04 runs. http://jhmotorsports.com/projects. I just wanted to put it in a comprehensive kit with instructions (really needed for all the bumper mods), mount brackets and an optional electric fan kit.
I will also just sell the piping kit separately to those who have pieced their own kits together and are struggling with hoses blowing off or boost leaks or just want a cleaner look.
Being that we save money by using the Ebay core in our kit we will be able to price it very aggressivly.
Target prices are as follows. We can hopefully have this to market in a couple months depending on the headache involved in getting the pipes replicated and finalizing a bracket design.
With this front mount kit, we have found that it out performs any sidemount, works great at the drag strip and on the street. However it will work fine for Auto X and short periods of road racing, it may cause overheating if you road race in warm climates above 80f for more than 15 minutes or so. Basically it will work great for 90% of the public. If you need the best sidemounts and don't care to chop up your bumper and want your stock fog lights I sell ER intercoolers as well.
The electric Fan kit is the high quality VAST unit. They use a Spahl fan and come with instructions, a relay, fuse, wiring, block off plate for location of old fan clutch and hardware. The instructions show you how to wire it come on automatically at 95c or with a switch (some people use the fog light wires in this case). Your choice. It is available in regular and High flow. This is recommended for hot climates and possible long idling periods in weather above 90 degrees f.
Here it is full installed painted black on the RS6 turbo project (customer's request) Stealthy huh? Can't reuse the OEM fog lights, but there is room for someone to mount some aftermarket ones in the same location. Or get different grill mesh.\
