My 2003 VW Jetta TDI
This is my Jetta I just bought about 2 months ago. I will be doing many modifications But as of now I have only done a few minor ones that I will tell you all about soon..... As of now here are the only 2 crappy pictures I have:
I recently installed an Evolution Import (Evolution Import ) 'Atlas' Skid plate. I work at the VW dealership as a Tech, and I have seen more than enough holes in oil pans. $300 well spent!
I have also just ordered a Diesel Geek TDI race pipe, to get rid of the damn EGR. I also used the computer at work to turn down the EGR so that disconnecting it will not turn on the 'Check engine' light so much. This will stop the carboning up of the intake (I am so tired of cleaning that crap out of peoples intakes) , and installing the race pipe also has a larger bore than the OEM EGR did. Here is a picture of it.
That picture is from there web site (DieselGeek ), I will get a pic of it installed on my car as soon as it gets here. Its stuck at the border!!!!
*Update April 21st 2008*
Just received my new injector Nozzles today! Going to install them tomorrow or the next.
*Update April 23rd 2008*
Installed the nozzles yesterday, was an easy install and WOW! You really notice the difference. The nozzles I bought were the Bosio PP764. This is what Diesel Inside (who I got them from), said about them: "The Power Plus (PP) 764 alone will increase hp by approximately 25 and torque by approx. 50. i.e. PP764s also flow enough fuel for up to 170hp with a standard 10mm fuel injection pump, so if you upgrade your turbo these nozzles will support it well."
You get awesome acceleration out of these things.... anyway...thats all for now.
**Update May 13th/ 2008**
I recently got some new headlights. My old ones were quite sandblasted and all the better reason to convince the Girlfriend I need some black projector hedlights with fog lights. I just hooked up the fog lights yesterday using a OEM foglight headlight switch out of a Beetle. Anyway here is what they look like. And a few pictures of all my vehicles in my driveway.
The red Jetta is my other car, I just sold. It is a 1990 Jetta Turbo Diesel, Lowered, with VW 15" BBS wheels and smoked tail lights.
****Update**** Sept 23/2008
Ordered Boost Gauge and ColumnPod, So I can get a Manual Boost controller. I also ordered a Red TDI for the trunk. I'm wondering if I should shave off Jetta and Just have the red TDI or get the Bora emblem, or leave it the same. Vote in the poll! I will get some pictures when I get it all hooked up and when they show up!
***Update**** Oct 2nd/2008
Got the TDI emblem installed on the trunk and in the front grille. I used the emglem for the GLI for the front grille, then removed 'GLI' and installed the 'TDI'. I also installed the Boost Gauge and ColumnPod. Looks pretty Good I think. Tell me what you all think of the emblem's and Gauge.
*** Update Nov 10th/ 2008***
I recently went on a long trip, 9 hours there and 9.5 hours back in 2 days. On the way back it got really foggy. These headlights are shit! They look nice but are a bitch to aim. I couldn't see shit. If you see these headlights on line DO NOT BUY. If you buy some aftermarket headlight only buy HELLA brand (OEM manufacturer). They are more money, but save up and pay the money! I have had some customers at work remove aftermarket lights for the OEM. Anyway. So I reinstalled my original headlights, but not before I did the Joey mod (Go here for info on the Joey mod: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1567138 ). I also bought an HID kit for them. I will post pictures when I get the HID's installed.
***Update Nov 11th/2008***
So I installed the HID kit tonight. Here are a few pictures. Fist is a picture of the original lights (with PIAA bulbs). Then with one HID and one PIAA, then the last 2 are of the HID's both installed.
***Update Jan 24th/2009***
I recently had all the windows tinted. Just took a few pictures to show the tint, the TDI badge on the back, and Jetta removed, and the joey modded headlights.
Sorry about the dirtyness.... ITS WINTER!
And here are 2 videos of me accelerating. This is how it is with the injector nozzles.
****Update Aug. 02/2009
I haven't really had a chance or any money to do much the the VW since the frame broke in the truck. But I have installed Audi TT front control arm bushings. These bushings are much stiffer than OEM for better handling. Now I am saving for some nicer wheels, and suspention, along with a better clutch and ECM chip. Here is a picture of the bushings.
