When I first got the truck it was just being loaned to me. My best friend had just flipped my 1967 mustang on to its side so i didn't have a car. My dad's friend had bought the truck from the coolest old lady I've ever met and wanted me to fix it. It would be my daily back and forth to school truck. When I first saw it I hated it. 4 different rims, 3 different types of tires, and it was painted with blue house paint with a brush.

After we stripped the house paint off the truck

Then after the first coat of primer

some more bondo and then a final coat of primer

Unfortunetly i have no pics of the second stage of primer.

I had two weeks to get the Dodge running reassemble the motor, new brakes and I had to do something about the paint. So while my dad's friend started the mechanical work (not that I could'nt do it.)I started stripping paint with paint stripper and a wire brush.

My truck after a full year of rebuilding. We shaved off all of the emblems and side markers.

The wirebrush was taking to long so my dad's friend (Vern)brought me a electric sander. I finished stripping the paint and to my suprise there was very little rust. My friend Joe finished the body work and custom roll pan while my cousin and I welded up every marker, emblem, door handle or hole we could find.

The truck was lowered by flipping the axles.

Scott (my cousin) and I flipped the axles to give it a real aggressive low look. My friends and I all wet sanded the primer that Joe layed down. After that a little more bondo and yet another layer of primer. More wet sanding by my awesome friends. And then paint. After paint came the the bed liner.

Bed liner and a fuel cell. You can also see the custom roll pan.

I installed a fuel cell in the bed so I could remove the gas tank behind the seat inside the cab. I also put on 14x7 in the front and 15x10 U.S. Slotted mags in the rear with 295/50/15 Toyo Proxes in the rear. The engine stayed the same Slant Six 225 for now. It took a lot of work but it turned out to be one sick truck.

Update. Where I live we have a big classic car show called Kool April Nites. I was in it last year and almost won CHP Kool Pic but unfortunately wasnt standing next to my truck. The CHP needed to know if I was going to be at the rewards show the next day and since they couldn't find me they moved on. This year I started early to be ready for the show. Twenty days before, I blew up the "indestructible" Slant Six. I had a 318 to put in it but since I flipped the axles it wouldn't clear. I found a Volare front clip out of a !979 LeBaron to graph on. This gave me IFS, Power disc brakes, and power steering. We are wrapping the suspension work up right now but the motor was no good. I am a Auto student at a local college, Shasta College. We have some of the best guys that go there and we almost got the motor rebuilt in time. I am going to miss the car show by about four days to a week. I will have pictures up soon on that whole process.

Well thanks for checkin out my truck and by all means leave comments on what you think.
