UPDATED 7/21/09 -  SOME RECENT PIC'S! - 2 new pages added w/ all new info about latest progess.

My new paint scheme is on page 3.

Newest pic's are:

1: - body work changes

2: -ideas to add to my car

3: -shaving the door rub strips / new paint scheme idea.

____________________________________________________________________

By no means a show car, but I would like some nice paint on it.

I am considering making some molds of the hood scoop and the rear quarter panels.

The most recent pic's are first since they are the most recent, it just makes sense.

Enjoy!

A set of hidden driving lights are now installed in the bottom air vents under the ram air ducts.

Low intensity Red LED lights have been installed in the front grill area and the rear of the car over the top of the chome exhaust.  Looks sinister at night.

I'll add some night pic's when I take some.

Red tinted the side windows.  Special order 20%.

Painted the brake calipers red - like'n it!

The rear is still pretty much the same.

Some pic's of the damage and the repairs:

Pic's of the repair:  I cut out all the damaged area

the best I could before getting into all the cracks.

Pic's of the backing I made that gets taped to the

outside of the body piece.  Fiberglass doesn't

stick to aluminum foil.  So it's the perfect material

to work with.

Drill a hole when you have a crack to stop the

the crack from growing - grind a 45 degree valley

in the crack - add resin and you're done.

Except for all the sanding stuff.

Just for kicks, here is a couple pic's of how the wide rear quarter panels were made:

I have had inquiries, so giving them this site would be easier.

I have to use HTML code to add these pic's, so I may not be able to add info to each picture.

This is what the original kit piece looked like.  It wasn't nearly evil enough for me.

But, when I bought this kit, I already had the future plans in my mind.

Next pic is the lower section I made out of foam panel and fiberglass

Next pic show the top piece I made out of thin plexiglass. Already glassed over.

Above pic shows the foam molded piece added to the bottom of the kit.

Pic below shows adding additional layers of glass.

Pic above shows the inner fender well. I used bendable plastic as my backing and glassed it into the kit piece.

Pic below - the finished product.  Still needed to do some shaping in the vent area.

But you got the idea - Evil!

Photobucket

Pic's are kinda sporadic, but I think it gives a decent idea of the process I used to build the rear quarter sections.

Things you can't see are the screws or rivets to hold the pieces in place.

This was a non-mold one off process. All I had to do was create templates for one side and simply mirror the process for the other side.

In the future, I may create some molds for my or other's use if I get any more requests for them.

If interested, let me know.

I guarantee you, Nobody will have these parts on their RX7!

You are on this site to view the cars. So I'll let the pic's do the talking.

Obviously a work in progress. I will add to the site as work continues.
This ain't no show car.

Tell me what you think, leave some feedback.

NEW: you can see the ducting to the front.
BlackEvil's 1986 Mazda RX-7

Punched out 302 w/ enough go fast parts to get about 360HP - best guess. Fast enough for street fun.

Very nice car! I really like the front end of the car. I am currently in the process of buying a 1986 RX-7 would you mind telling me where you got the front bumper and the fenders? Don't listen to techer200 because i think the car looks awesome!! But, he is entitled to his own opinion, but i think he is wrong

Sorry to say it but I am not feeling it. The wide body kit doesnt match the car. The quarters and fender widebody kit looks like it just stops....they dont flow. The scoop looks a lil uneven from your pics. Hopefully by the time you are done it will flow together.
